What Are Your Views Of Public Display Of Affection?

Every person views public display of affection differently. Does it pose any disinterest or interest whether the person you are with/interested in, is comfortable or not.

There is someone who holds dear in my heart. There was a time I said not to only at the time in public, but it wasn't because I wasn't interested, it was more of being proper in public at the time. He did explain to me later that if a person doesn't want to be seen outside together, the person is embarrassed of being around the person. Note we have different cultures. We had a friendly discussion and I did make him understand my views on certain situations for him to understand better. Of course he's someone I hold dearly.

Quite simple views, in my language, PDA or Public Display of Affection is not even an existing expression. It does say something significant culturally. I can translate this expression but no one would use it because the concept behind the word doesn't really exist socially.

So I view affection as affection, because that's what affection is, which makes me wonder why another culture made up PDA as an expression. I wonder if that culture isn't confusing affection in public with sex in public. That would explain why this country specific expression (and the concept supporting it) exists in English.

I think compatibility for this is something that comes in to matter that being affectionate in public should not be something to be ashamed of. It's a positive human condition that far too many situations try to stifle and diminish.

Cultures where it is forced to restrict these behaviours aren't cultures but control mechanisms where others choose to decide how you should behave despite how you feel and how it impacts others.

Well i am what you would call an hypocrite in this regard.

İ am disgusted by people that does this but i will do it in the most extreme cases i can save myself with.
