It seems like age gap relationships are the new trend these days? What’s your thoughts on this?

I notice I been getting hit on more by younger girls’lately and I notice they are making tv shows with age gap relationships as well, and I noticed a lot of people on GAG , including myself have been asking some age gap questions? What’s your thoughts on this? Me personally doesn’t really hold age as a deciding factor when it comes to meeting a beautiful girl that I hit it off with , as long as she is above legal age of consent of course. And her and I have amazing chemistry and connection together. Do you think social media is a big part of the reason more age gap relationships are forming?

Hmmm… I get that some age gaps can be fine, but certain ones are just… off. Like, if you’re dating someone young enough to be your son or daughter, that’s a red flag to me. At that point, it’s not just an age difference it’s a power imbalance, and that’s where coercion and grooming can happen.

A lot of the time, the younger person doesn’t even realize it’s happening. And let’s be real, there are people out there who intentionally seek out partners who are barely legal. Why do you think the most searched categories in adult content are always “18” or “teen”? It’s because predators know that’s the youngest they can go without getting in legal trouble. But just bc it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s right in my opinion,

Like, I’m 20, and honestly, I still feel 16 sometimes. So when I see people my age dating someone way older, it just doesn’t sit right. And I can hear some would think well “you’re just not as “mature as they are” … let’s boyfriend. I could never be convinced that someone my age is as mature as let’s says a 40yo, I take no offense to that, it’s just reality, and I’m pretty sure science can back that up and so yea that’s js how I see it…

I’m not really sure if it’s a trend. I think it’s more of a preference, but I have noticed it’s become more popular recently. I think it’s more about preference. My friend who is the same age as me prefers men 15 to 20 years older, I prefer guys my own age and one woman I know married someone 15 years younger, so obviously she likes younger guys.

I think there’s a perception that older men are more mature, which might be true in the general sense but not always. I know a few guys my age that still act like frat boys

From my personal experiences in relationships and dating girls’ I never really held age as a deciding factor when it came to meeting someone that I found attractive , that I felt I had great chemistry and connection with. Her age isn’t what I am after to begin with lol , Now I consider myself wise enough not to go for a girl under legal age of consent. But if her and I are 15 or more years apart , that isn’t automatically going to make me no longer interested in her whatsoever, I dated a 25 year old girl and her and I hit it off because she was more mature than some of the girls’ my age or okder, My ex is 4 years older then me and her and I were together for a very long time until recently , but her being older than me didn’t stop me from being with her , Now that I am single again , I am now leaning more to younger
Girls’ because lately I been having better experiences with them lol

I fully endorse and advocate it. People who want it, can knock themselves out. It is just a preference like any other and not as superficial as wanting to be with someone with money for instance. Good digging/ sugar relationships are a far more questionable and deplorable ones. There is nothing wrong with age gap relationships regardless of which partner is older.

Social media I think has made young people off their rocks. They don't really know wtf they are about or what they want and the stability of older folks who have weathered storms of history is something that grounds them.

I personally like to stay within my age group like one or two years up or down.. I did date a guy 10 years younger but that only lasted 8 months because he was a dumbass and didn't seem that into me.

Yeah for sure. Lots of guys online in their early 20's DM me and say I'm cute, but I have no interest.. I want to date someone my age but they all seem damaged.. only wanting hookups/casual or only want woman under 30. So I basically gave up looking 2 years ago..

Yea after my long term marriage ended , I went through a lot of mixed emotions and feelings that made me not want to be in a relationship with anyone , I still enjoyed meeting girls’ and having fun with girls’ I just did t want a relationship either any of them. For me to get into a relationship again is going to take some time , why I only like FWB’s with some strings attached because I am not the type of guy that runs around having sex with multiple people , I think that’s dirty and degrading and I don’t want to end up with STD’s whatsoever. So if I meet a girl that is interested in me , I am open and honest with her and tell her I want to take things slow and tell her my reason why , I just feel like I really have nothing to give at this point in my life , I loved my ex so much to the point i realized Love isn’t enough I want a girl that wants to be my best friend , that brings happiness into my life , not misery

There have always been age gap relationships. In the church I was in when I was young, the joke was about the 40-20 relationships, as in women in their 20's dating and marrying guys in their 40's.
