How many times was it really the woman behind the brains that never got any credit?

I got reminded of this episode for Cold Case. A woman had supposedly committed suicide but she was really strangled by her jealous, narcissistic husband. She was the better poet but he stole her works and passed as the ''writer''. In the end, it was discovered that even though he had a PhD, he couldn't really write a thing. He said it himself, that all he had was potential and 1,000 words of mediocrity. His wife (a single mother, a SAHW) was the real author, the one with the talent. Were there cases like that in real life, where she can be the best writer, inventor... the original person behind the brains but a man steals all her works and passes them as his?

His name gets crossed and it's replaced by his ex wife's name as the real writer:
