Do you and your SO walk in step?

Today, I saw a married couple walking in step, perfectly synchronized, as they took their afternoon walk in the park.

Got me to wondering... Do most couples walk in step?

I know my wife and I generally don't, one of us usually walks faster than the other, sometimes me, sometimes her.

What about you?

My wife is 5' 1" and I am 5' 9". Her normal stride is shorter than mine so, for us to walk at the same pace, she must take more steps than I do. Therefore, if we tried to walk in a synchronized manner, we would fall out of sync very quickly.

We do. I'm 5'8" and my husband is 6'5" but since we are usually holding hands or have arms around waists when we're walking we naturally sync our steps. Now we do it even when we're not touching. Sometimes one of us walks backwards and the other forwards if we are talking while we walk.

Do you mean like working out? Exercise? If yes, then yeah me and my boyfriend would walk parallelly in steps

If it's for something else, I prefer holding hands while walking

Some times my SO walks faster or I do, usually we end up walking in sync without meaning to

Many partners walk in step with their Significant Other, while other couples have trouble doing so.

I have a larger gait than my partner so no , should I adjust I guess I could but it feels un-natural. Maybe with more time and I mature more then perhaps.. assuming it’s still an option 😂


She tells me I walk too fast constantly , what can I say I have a purposeful walk but it’s not the speed it’s my stride length or her shorter legs 😜

yes, although it was not always the case. My wife used to complain i walked too fast.

Nah, I am usually walking really fast and my hubby is trying to keep up.

My wife is over a foot shorter than me. She takes twice as many steps as I do

We hold hands so the natural swing of then together helps get the synchronised legs.
