How much do you care about your SO’s interests?

To the point that they make him who he is, so I appreciate his routine such as it is. It doesn’t have to be the most interesting thing to ME, per se, but if these activities motivate him to be the great guy that he is, fine. I care about what makes him happy….


It’s also nice to ask simple questions, esp if you’re new to the activity. For example, I’m not into football — I’m more into futbol — ok, so I might ask who his teams are, do a little recon to figure out a few details about the game and players rather than pestering him, then have a bit to chat about while we’re prepping snacks before the game. It shows I’m making an effort to understand “his world” and don’t want to detract from his experience of the game. Perhaps pop in to rub his shoulders and ask who’s winning just bc I love the boyish look of excitement a guy gets when his team is winning.


If the shoe was on the other foot, I’d expect him to also be mildly interested in my stuff too. Again, he wouldn’t have to be obsessed with my interests, but if he wants to join me once in a while or learn more about something I like then that’s great too.

So's should try to be involved in each others hobbies I think it helps with emotional bonding. You can take breaks and don't have to be with your partner every time they do everything but if I was dating a girl who wasn't a gamer it would make me really happy if she was open to learning to play. I still have my 360 so I could do Halo split screen like the good old days, before the dark times, before AAA became a warning not a promise...

I assume she is her interests, just like I am my interests. Since the point of a relationship is to relate to the best extent possible, in my eyes, then the rest is self-explanatory

We share many interests but also have separate interests.
