Should I be worried about her trip?

Okay, today, I texted my girlfriend good morning, and out of nowhere, she told me she was going to see her family in Oklahoma and would be staying a month with them. She was supposed to be starting a job, and out of nowhere, she's going to see her family. I don't want to assume she's cheating or just avoiding responsibilities, but I can't help but assume the worst. Should I be worried or chill out?

Well the fact that she didn’t tell you this until last second gives you a right to reconsider that relationship if you want to. Apparently you weren’t her top priority when she agreed to this trip , so she doesn’t have to be your top priority anymore either , It’s up to you on whether you want to wait for her or not? You both don’t own each other , so you really don’t have to tell her shit , she chose to go on this trip without talking to you about it first , so that shows her true character right there , so you can do the same thing to her as well . Move her to the back burner on low heat and start working on your backup plan. If she's shopping around, you should be too. If she drifts away or breaks it off, you're 30 days further along than if you wait around for her to spring "the conversation" on you.

Unless someone in her family suddenly fell ill and is on death watch, there is no way she had no warning of this extended trip. The fact she isn't communicating, for whatever reason, is a red flag. She's probably laying the groundwork for a move back home but keeping you on the hook incase it doesn't work out. A classic "have it all" strategy from a woman. They are inherently selfish personalities. Hence the "friend zone" stable of backups they commonly have waiting for a chance that is never gonna materialize.

If you were looking for a sign that you should seek therapy for your past trauma, this is it. Because of all the things your mind could think she’s doing on this trip, why immediately jump to cheating? Admit that you never properly healed from whatever was done in your past so that you can address it and move past it.

First ask yourself if the things she’s doing are genuinely sneaky or if you’re being paranoid based off your past. If you feel valid in saying that she IS being sneaky then you really have to stop gaslighting yourself into thinking it’s ok when it’s not. Don’t go through the stress of wondering what she’s doing there.
