Would someone that thinks cheaters deserve death think different if the cheater was their child?

I understand infidelity must be a terrible betrayal in relationships and marriages but it's not a criminal felony. A death sentence for causing emotional pain seems too much. There was a male poster here that said cheaters deserve death. Would someone like that still say and think the same if the cheater was their own child?

No one deserves to die for cheating , but penalized and prosecuted and fined yes , they should have a website like Megan’s law for cheaters , especially in a marriage , but sadly marriages would no longer be a thing if that was the case lol Some countries take cheating seriously and end up killing the person that cheated, I forget what country it is , but if you get busted cheating , they stone you to death , they set them free and let them run for their lives, while the towns people are chucking rocks at them until they die , or they bury them in the ground with just their head sticking out and they stone them to death. If that was the case , I highly doubt people would cheat anymore. Cheating is a horrible thing to do to someone , studies have shown the long term effects it can actually do to someone mentally and mess them up for life , it messed me up by having a harder time trusting girls’ , so I agree their should some serious consequences for their actions. If someone isn’t happy in a relationship , the right thing to do is end the relationship or marriage before screwing someone else , but people are selfish and only do what they feel is best for themselves. Because they know they won’t suffer really any serious consequences for their actions. Unless their partner loses their mind and kills them themselves , which I have heard some stories of that happening in my town. I knew a girl that was cheating on her husband and when he found out the truth , he shot her right in the head and killed her , because he lost his mind , now he is sitting behind bars but apparently he doesn’t care from what I heard from some people that know him. So if you ever consider cheating on someone , think about the consequences that could possibly happen to you , before doing something stupid. Just end your relationship first if you are that unhappy

It's not a crime except in the most repressive countries, and then it's only a crime for women. In Western countries this is no longer prosecuted because it's ridiculous to force someone to unwillingly stay in a relationship they want to leave. In general, prosecuting consenting adult behavior leads to corruption of law enforcement, and the enforcement is highly selective. Some are left in peace, others are prosecuted.

Indeed. I can already think of other worse things an spouse can do such as leaving you penniless with nothing, falsely accusing you of a serious crime or even worse, the ultimate betrayal of catching them hiring a hitman to unalive you... them wanting you dead. Now that would likely cause anyone to become a recluse and never trust again.
