I feel people have a narrow understanding of this field and often view psychologists as mind readers or manipulators. As psychology is mostly a female dominated subject, I wonder if women in this field often scare off potential partners coz of this view? Also those in relationship, do you feel trust issues from you s/o due to him thinking you may manipulate him?

I love psychology. And would love to date someone who also understands it, is logical and gets why humans do things.
Though I know first hand from my mother just because one can study psychology don't mean they are smart or not crazy unstable themselves as she plenty is and was abusive to me. Naturally because she was abused in her life too but you would think understanding the psychology of that would help but nah.
