9 moOh my god, yes, lmao. The weed doesn’t help, I’m sure😅🤣 Or the concussions from footbal😵💫
I have an uncannily good memory for some things (the more useless, the more likely I am to remember, and vice versa😂), and other things, I can not only forget info, simply sleeping overnight can erase my memory of the day before in a lot of ways.
I BARELY remembered something I meant to check this morning (that I already forget🤣) that I tried to make a deliberate mental reminder alarm for, and it was only seeing something related to it that reminded me that I had even had the initial thought to check whatever it was the night before, haha

So if you forget things so easily who is there to remind you of the things you forget to remember? Lol!

I had someone responsible for it, but I forget who I asked to do it🤔😂

9 moI am selectively forgetful.
As this is under 'relationships'... I don't bother to remember a ''anniversary'' - but I do remember little bits of information about what excites my partner.
In other aspects: I eternally remember an asshole trying to 'dirty-trick' me, and I do forget about unintentional mishaps.

As a relationship coach (and a happily married guy), I like to think I've got a decent memory for the important things! But, when it comes to remembering where I left my glasses… well, that's a different story! 😉 Forgetfulness can happen to the best of us, especially when balancing family, work, and all life's crazy details. Just don't forget to fall in love with yourself every day – that's one thing worth remembering! ❤️

9 moMy memory is honestly terrible for most things. I'm good at recognizing patterns. That's why I can remember melodies easily. But I can't remember names for my life. I can't remember lyrics either. Or speeches. I can repeat them 100 times and still not remember.
Funny thing is, when there's an interesting fact, I always seem to remember that. It's so strange. It's as if my brain instantly classifies names and lyrics as "not interesting" and that's why I can't remember them.
A fun fact is that women tend to have a better memory than men, particularly in verbal-based episodic memory tasks, memory for faces, names, and events.
And here's the funniest part. Women tend to have better object location memory, so all of those times we ask our mom or partner where something is, and they give that cliche response "Did you even look?" actually has something to do with their better memory.10 Reply - 1.3K opinions shared on Relationships topic.
9 moI'm a very forgetful person. I'll forget the smallest things if I'm not focused on it. I often forget what I was going to say or forget what was said in conversation unless it's important details that my mind retains.
I'm trying to do better in remembering things but I think all that drinking in college, has my mind kind of messed up when it comes to memory.20 Reply 2.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Nope. A guy I was seeing always used to say "I trust your memory more than mine" then forget he said that...

9 moWhat was the question? 🙄
10 Reply - 578 opinions shared on Relationships topic.
9 moIt depends. Am I The Asshole? I can remember numbers pretty well and pretty easily. And I can remember faces but not things like birthdays or names. Is that just my personality not prioritizing those things? I think so. I have to work at remembering those things with repetition and tricks like mnemonics. My poor social memory gets me in trouble all the time.
Example: This past Friday night I was out with a group of guy friends. And women were dropping in and out all night. One woman was a friend of one of the guys I'm closest friends with. She's hanging with us for like an hour and a half. But she never comes near me. She was standing behind me all the time talking to everyone else. So I was oblivious to her. My buddy pays his tab then leans in and says "good luck" I look at him confused and say good luck with what? He just repeats, "good luck tonight". I keep up the confused look and repeat, "with what?
He nods behind me and says, she's gonna hit on you tonight and try to pick you up. I ask, how do you know? He just pats me on the shoulder, smiles, and walks out, LOL.
So she must have said something to him or asked about me. Because he was right. As the group broke up and people drifted out, seats opened up to my right and left. She grabs the seat on my right and starts chatting me up. Then she decides she wants the seat on my left so she jumps up and moves to my other side which causes me to turn away from the rest of the room. She was not dumb. She was calculating.
So we talk for a while and she tells me I was the first new person she'd met at the place we were in. The entire time she's talking to me she was constantly playing with her hair, a sort of linked set of rings she'd pull off and spin around, and a bow or whatever it's called in the center of the low cut dress she had on right between her cleavage. She'd untie the bow play with the two ends, retie it, untie it again, over and over. Then the hair. Then the rings. It was obvious she was really nervous. OK I can play with that, LOL.
I said, oh I knew you are a friend of "Daves" and he's always in here, I just assumed you always came here too. I've probably seen her there a dozen times in a year and a half and talked to her a half dozen times. Just very short hi, nice to see ya again. We talked about when we first met, blah blah blah. But at some point it got uncomfortable referring to her as "hey you", ROFL. Soooo, I asked what's your name again? I could see the disappointment on her face. But she was polite about it and told me her name again.
So yes, my selective memory gets me in trouble socially all the time. But in my defense, it's not intentional. It's just the way my brain is wired. Low prioritization of social information. Guilty!

9 moI have a very good memory. It’s kinda scary to me.
we went back to Italy a few weeks back.
i saw a wall… I remember we were there. That small part of the wall is the castle.
I also remember the restaurant from a different city. The exact corner, street.
these were from 3 years ago.10 Reply I tend to forget when I'm in hurry, for instance when I come home and have some urgent work to take care of. It usually involves small but essential things like keys, phone and wallet. I know they are somewhere in the house, but they might be in an unusual place.
And yes, not finding them usually coincides with the time I need to leave the house for something urgent or that can't be put off.
10 ReplyI'm and enigma! I forget where I placed things yet I remember birthdays and the date of events that occurred in my life like the day I started a job or got fired. I remember measurements such as a roof span at work. Co-workers were always amazed and thought it weird.

9 moExtremely forgetful to the point it frustrates my Partner. We recently fell out because I forgot some important details regarding future plans I obviously feel like an idiot, I don't even know how this happens.

20 Reply2.3K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Yes. I used to have a great memory in the past, now I forget everything. I think I built a subconscious defense mechanism to the point that it even affected my daily activities.
10 ReplyI'm somewhere in the middle. I remember lots of events, easily recount what I did or said. If I'm comfortable somewhere or am rushed, I will forget things.
10 Reply7.2K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Yes, I have to do something immediately or else I will forget to do it. I am starting to get concerned that I am getting senile but it is probably because I have gotten disconnected from life as of late.

Anonymous(45 Plus)9 moNo. I wish to God I could forget about about the voices in my head for 5 minutes. Voices that scream over and over again, "Why do they come to me to die"? "Why do they come to me to die"?
