Why are dismissive avoidants so cold and distant?

I could swear... she had emotions, should could feel, communicate, understand. There was kindness, compassion, empathy, trust, understanding, listening, honesty we reciprocated connected really well but now... All of a sudden its like someone had just flipped a switch inside her and now it's like she's an empty shell... I feel nothing but cold apathy and indifference. For someone to completely check out from their emotions who can't reflect or feel any empathy. Its like spock, that green blooded Vulcan.

How can you trust your feelings and emotions to someone who is completely checked out from their feelings and emotions? Its like she's dead.. an empty shell of her former self. Did someone suck her soul out or something? I'm thinking narcissistic behavior. Even the bread crumbling lol, devoid of any sympathy or humanity just cold as ice... I didn't think humans like this could exist, its shocking! Borderline personality disorder maybe?

When I read about avoidant attachment and narcissists they are very close...

dismissive avoidants are cold bc they're afraid of getting hurt and protecting themselves. like getting close/vulnerable is very uncomfortable even tho others experience the opposite

Well, because they're dismissive avoidants. A person with dismissive avoidant attachment style tends to behave very hot and cold it's just their way of dealing with their feelings and emotions. It's a lot of work to date a person like that and if both people in the relationship are not willing to understand each other's needs and boundaries then chances are the relationship won't work.

I asked her and her response "it's something I just do".
At least I cared enough to ask her but I don't think she's is capable of understanding empathy or self reflecting because like all women they don't like to take responsibility or accountability right?
