Why would anyone (and no kids) go crazy over a cheating boyfriend or girlfriend?

I once read a poster saying he would likely be in jail if he ever walk in on his girlfriend cheating. They don't even have kids.

If you have no kids and you guys are just dating (that what a boyfriend or girlfriend is after all), then a romantic relationship gone wrong isn't the end of the world. Besides feelings and passion, you guys don't share assets, aren't married, no public vows were made nor share actual responsibilities. A girlfriend or boyfriend (no kids) isn't your family. They're actually a friend of the opposite sex whom you're banging and confuse infatuation for love.

I never cheated but to go crazy over a boyfriend cheating, esp if there aren't kids? Nope. It would be different if it were a husband of many years and kids involved cheating. Then that's a lot more than the betrayal. That's destruction of a family, destruction of a contract, of your public vows.

Now it is funny, he was trying to back into the closet pulling up his pants, and she asked what was I doing there.
I replied I used to live here, turned and walked away.

Weird that you think kids would change a person's reaction in this case. Having a kid or not doesn't necessarily change the feeling of betrayal.

No doubt is the same feeling if betrayal but with a child involved (married or not), you can't afford doing anything stupid that'll get you thrown in jail. If you do a crime of passion, you left the poor kid an orphan of both mom and dad. If you attack them, you'll likely not see your child again.
Assuming you already did a paternity test, if it's positive you would still have to have some minimum contact with the cheater in regards to the child's education and needs. That's tougher than if it's a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship without kids.

But you can easily get rid of a cheating boyfriend or girlfriend if there aren't children. If they cheat when married and kids involved, it's harder to ditch them. You would have to share custody, go through the whole divorce process and divide assets. That's tougher than just breaking up.

Making something tougher doesn't make the other experience any less painful or significant for a person. And you know we're passed the era where marriage is a requirement for children? Or need to go through the process of dividing assets? I stand by my first statement.

Yes I know and that's why there are more children raised by single mothers or fathers, in broken houses (no longer the nuclear family), more break-ups than ever because of people thinking being infatuated for decades is love and once the infatuation period fades it's over, more people living with a bunch of partners, no stability, more hooking up, etc

No doubt your feelings will get hurt but with a child involved, you would be dealing with more than just hurtful feelings and it doesn't end with just a break-up.
If a paternity test proves it's your child, you would still have to keep little contact with the cheater in regards to your child's education and needs. So yeah with a kid, even if you separate from the cheater, you're still stuck having a kid with them.
