1 moI'm a communicator. I'm not into playing power struggle games or dominating a woman in the early stages of a relationship. If you like me let me know. There's not gonna be any "aha, I own her now" moment, LOL. That stuff is childish and insecure. I don't have time for it. The thought process would be more like, "OK, maybe this is worth investing my time in". But I also realize that not every guy is like that. So being honest comes with risk. I get it.
But the "communication" doesn't have to be overt or even verbal. It could be indirect like being available, picking up the phone or replying to texts. It could be a smile and a simple "I'm having fun" or, "I like being around you". Just a little nudge that tells me I'm headed in the right direction. Or... being honest and not wasting my time... "I don't think is gonna work out for me". OK, disappointing, stings for a bit, but I'd appreciate the consideration for my time and emotional investment and money.

1 moStraight up. I hate games. I feel like women have been brainwashed by society to act stupidly with their subtle hints that no guy ever notices. Guys want to feel desired just as much as girls. Guys hate rejection as much as girls. We're just more used to it, because it's how we've lived, expecting that we won't have girls ever approach us.

Asking guys this question is funny! It is like asking “would you rather know the lowest price you can buy the car for right away, or would you rather they tell you a higher price at first” or something like that, where obviously it’s better for one side if everybody is honest and it is better for the other side to keep some information to themselves at first.
“Yes I want girls to throw themselves at me and get viewed as desperate by their friends!! It makes it easier for me, who cares how it affects them!!"17 Reply- 1 mo
How would it negatively affect her if she communicated
- 1 mo
@BarryLiverstone Other than her friends thinking she is desperate and guys thinking she is easy it would be fine!!
- 1 mo
But it’s not desperate if you think someone is attractive. Obv you would need to talk to them to see if there is chemistry or if it’s just skin deep. Desperation is another thing altogether.
- 1 mo
And yes, it’s desperate on both sides to throw yourself at someone and say you want to date them. I’ve had girls do that and it feels awkward as they didn’t know me
- 1 mo
@BarryLiverstone Casually saying “oh Evan is cute” or whatever is no big deal but going up to Evan and saying “I like you, do you like me” or some version of that, I would honestly say if you do it one time you will be teased, if you do it twice you will be viewed a certain way. I don’t mean by Evan who knows how he will see you, and in the long run it doesn’t matter much, I mean by your friend group and social circle, people talk and people remember things. It isn’t usually strangers in a bar. If it is strangers in a bar that is different there are different things to worry about (less social more physical) anyway someone can agree with me or not I am just saying how a lot of people think, and basically why girls are rarely going to walk up and hit on you. We will be judged.
- 1 mo
In that context it makes sense. When I saw the question my context was strangers at a bar or event.

Thank you for clarifying

1 moI liked a bit of effort involved to the guys that I had any interest in which was numerous for sure. I did without being straight forward would certainly give the signs that I was interested. I never made them chase very hard however.

1 moWomen definitely need to use their big girl words when they’re interested in a man. “The game” is for children. You don’t get to select for immaturity and then b*tch when your mate is immature. If you want to date grown folks, you have to date like grown folks.

But 98% of the time I'm going to see it or feel it and then ask her before she tells me00 Reply4.4K opinions shared on Relationships topic. She is best to tell me straight up and not play games

1 moI like blunt, keeps me from wrongful guessing.
00 Reply I would rather she tells me straight up
But not with a gun to my head for me to say it back
But manufacturing a “chase” is just childish
Nothing wrong with having a spicy and tasteful experience.
Back and forth teasing and such
But purposefully pushing me away in a ploy to make me run after he is not the way to go00 Reply2K opinions shared on Relationships topic. I was never into chasing. I want to know that she likes me. But she doesn't have to come right out and say it. I mean, it's okay if she does, but she can show it in other ways like hanging around me, chatting, showing interest, or by the look in her eyes.
00 Reply945 opinions shared on Relationships topic. Telling straight up would be much better, especially since multiple women do the exact same action and some think they are flirting and others think the guy is harassing them if he responds. So many women have no idea what they are doing or how to interact with people, it would be better to just be direct.

1 moI'd rather she tells me, it wastes a LOT less time!! All the days, weeks, months we've spent playing hide & seek, we COULD'VE been getting on with our lives!! Or, if she DOESN'T like me, why keep it a secret and let me waste all that time chasing someone I'll never have when I COULD'VE been using that time for other things? Unless we have easy access to a time machine, time is something we'll NEVER get back!!

1 mojust tell me ffs xD i don't have time for that emotional cat and mouse nonsense. like why would i have to "chase" a person i want? why should they not chase me? why should anyone "chase" anyone if they already like each other? doesn't make sense to me.
00 Reply If she wants truth and honesty in the relationship then be blunt. If you want a chase and fight for you, plan on him always second guessing everything about you and his pursuit, realizing there's always someone better than you.

Anonymous(30-35)1 moStraight up!
Most women are the opposite of straight forward about their feelings when they like a guy. We can't tell if you're flirting or just being friendly. We have to guess, and we get judged when we get it wrong. Half of women complain they can't be friendly with a guy without him thinking she likes him, and they other half complain men are too dumb to recognize it when a woman is flirting with them. And often they are the same women. It's a problem of women's own making.

1 moI want her to be subtle to lead me on and when I don't pick up on her signals she'll get pissed off at me for being an idiot. It's the best 🥴
10 Reply 1.5K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Please just tell me, works a lot in your favor since in this society subtlety can't always be acted upon.
00 Reply392 opinions shared on Relationships topic. Just straight up tell us. The guessing game isn't exciting, its only exhausting and frustrating.
00 Reply9.1K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Most women will tell you straight up regardless of what the clueless women haters on here might say. Nobody likes playing games.
00 Reply6.4K opinions shared on Relationships topic. She doesn't need to tell me directly, she can just invite me to dinner or whatever. It's the same thing, but less emotionally charged.

Anonymous(36-45)1 moYes, because I'm too shy, and I can't make the first move... that's why I prefer dominant and self-confident girls who like to take initiative.
00 ReplyStraight up if I'm interested and subtle if I'm not so its all just in her mind.
I don't want unnecessary extra drama.

Anonymous(30-35)1 moIf I feel like I have to chase, I feel like she doesn't like me, and I find that unattractive. I know that's not what girls mean when they try that, but that's what it feels like to me.
