"When I'm out driving, everybody needs to get out of my way" How would you feel about a person making that statement?

I worked with this person, and we went out a lot, and had several occasions of seeing her do careless and downright reckless things while driving. When driving home from work, we went the same direction, and she did not even recognize my vehicle, and did stupid things while following/passing me and immediately called me on my cell and apologized!!!

I have a new lady friend who DRIVES FOR A LIVING and has been doing so for many years. She is a tiny little thing, and drives for Arkansas Best Freight, and has a STERLING driving record, and, she drives much the same as I. As a matter of fact, when we go places, she drives the MODEL S

Many of the drivers in my area exhibit that sentiment.

Most of the rest of the drivers on the road seem to not even realize that they're driving, much less being aware that they're amongst other vehicles on the roadway.

"A**holes and idiots" is the term that I use to describe most drivers on the roads these days.

Drive with purpose, awareness, and consideration.

No one can do better than their best.
I guess that we can all succumb to not always being the best drivers, me included sometimes, but there does seem to be an epidemic of poor driving habits in recent years.

I'd find out where she lives, and where she normally drives, and stay far far away from there. I may also put a "CAUTION - BAD DRIVER" sticker on the rear of her car.

I'm not sure what you're asking? How would I feel about the person? I mean, is she a nice person otherwise just with driving issues? Or how do I feel about the statement? I mean, in a city it's prolly reckless and not a good way to be but out here in the country I say it before I go to town since I've hit 3 deer over the years.

@RandomGirl42 I did not indicate that 'overall', she isa good person and we dated for some length of time, but her driving attitude was reckless and irresponsible, toward other drivers, and her attitude towards other drivers was simply "get out of my way". She eventually got a speeding ticket, but she did not change much in attitude.

@sage2021 I think you are right, and even though I did not KNOW Emma's attitude towards other drivers, her accident and the circumstances that led to her horrible crash seem to indicate that same feeling. So terribly sad.

That would depend on whether or not they were serious. Lots of people make self-deprecating comments about their driving ability. Not me though. I'm an excellent driver.
