I don’t resent it, but i can relate to the feeling. Most people, by a huge margin, only interact with police when they’ve done something objectionable. It’s going to get worse before it gets better. Communities are actively defunding their police departments, or trying to. The solution is MORE police so that they’re not reducing patrols in order to establish community outreach programs. This will also be better for the officers since they’re not dealing strictly with criminals and dirt bags. You can only do that for so long before you become jaded about people. So now we have citizens who are jaded about cops and cops who are jaded about citizens. To expect anything but the worst is foolish.
This is true for a lot of people. Including me. I'm not any BLM trash, but I don't trust any authority figures, let alone ones that could manhandle me or shoot me literally just because they feel like it. And if you do trust people who can manhandle and/or shoot you, just because they feel like it, then you're either a fool, or one the rich bastards they're getting paid to protect. And no, before some dumb-f*ck says it, my race has nothing to do with it, and I've never been arrested in my life. Been eyeballed a lot, though.

I don’t like authority figures either, and I am a completely law abiding Citizen. The idea a person can intentionally ruin my day Because they are having a crappy day really turns me off.
I mean I personally don't feel uncomfortable when there's a police officer behind me, but I can understand why others do so each to their own

To protect, someone should be in front - not on one's back :D
Personally I have no business with police, except for the traffic clowns.
They restrict my freedom of speed and my options of free movements.
For fairness: police people are humans just like me as well... mostly
The statement isn’t at all surprising, you never know what kind of cop will pull you over and people shouldn’t have to feel uneasy with someone who is “supposed” to protect them but with all the bad cops and the rest protecting them why should people feel safe around them
Voted other.
Ideally, you should feel safe if you aren't doing nothing wrong, but the reality is some cops are just evil people and they can use the authority givin to them to harass people and cause trouble if you happen to run into a A-hole that desires to flex his ego and authority over you.
I might of felt that way when I was younger but not now. The only thing I don't like is when a cop is going under the speed limit so you pass him and then he follows you. I think some cops do that just to see your reaction. I mean I know even if he pulls me over it's going to be for something really minor an kind of keystone coppish. It's more the attitude like "hey cop, don't you have some actual crime to be fighting". 🤣🤣🤣
If the police is going their job correctly, only criminals feel that way; of they are corrupt in any way, innocents can feel that way and measures to fix that should be taken.
you have been fed too much liberal BS about cops. Why not do some research on your own to see that the two or three bad cops that CNN constantly portrays as typical law enforcement are outliers and that there are thousands of cops that protect their communities
I don’t pay attention to any liberal bs. Lol
I mostly support police but I understand being uncomfortable with one behind you in traffic
@exitseven: There are over 650,000 cops in the U. S. If just 1% of them of 670,000 are bad cops then that's 6,500 plus bad cops running our streets 8 hours a day, 7 days a week. Think of that.
It's not just 2 or 3 of them CNN points out like you say.
Institutions are responsible for their actions, and to an extent those of their members; they are NOT responsible for your feelings.
Everyone feels that way about Goverment, That you blame the hand rather than the politicians wielding it is why said goverment is soo scary.
It depends on your area, also some people are paranoid.
in Mexico... yes, kind of
I've never felt that way. Cops here are decent.
Were you ever subject to police brutality?
Many criminals feel that way.
Actually many law-abiding citizens feel that way
Only the ones with a criminal past.
Wrong. This is coming from someone who mostly supports the police
