Have you ever been blocked by someone you’ve never interacted with?

I tried to leave an opinion on a question only to find out the asker had already blocked me. I don’t recall ever interacting with them 🤷‍♂️

Yes. And no.

Like I interact on like a they gave me a like or read my comments then block me based on an answer they didn’t like the point of view of.

One guy blocked me because I kept citing facts and evidence to the point that it would always get Superb by GAG Team so he blocked me. Just the way things work ig.

One woman blocked me for having a good stance on video games for adults, not just being for kids. I mentioned M Rating for Mature, story driven games with emotional depth and impact with violence / gore. Showcasing games can be for all ages, not just children however she was really triggered by that.

Yep, I've been blocked by someone here with whom I've never interacted.

It's my guess that either the blocking was entirely accidental, or that they had been sufficiently offended by either a question or a response from me to cause them to block me.

C'est la vie.

I've also been blocked by someone here with whom I'd shared a long friendship.
I'd been away from G@G for a while.
When I returned, I found that I'd been blocked by him.
It was quite a shock to me, making me wonder what had occurred in his mind to make him block me.
It bothers me somewhat, but again, c'est la vie.

It happened to me... more than few times. I never even saw them before. Some were even level 1 user and I found out I've been blocked only after I came across their question and was about to post my opinion, but it didn't let me. It only bothers me when I spent more than few minutes writing a big paragraph to share my views/experience only to realise that I'm blocked. 😭

Of course, happens a lot especially my malicious askers who wanna be able to post their talking points without us being able to refute it. I always notice who it is that blocks me, I have my tricks of finding it out, and then to keep the playing field even I always counterblock.

I think we all have had someone block or unfollow us. That's on them, if I've done something to piss them off or they don't agree with me, that's not my concern.

I don't block or unfollow, I just let time pass. See where things lead.

Yeah, that happens sometimes! People block preemptively for all sorts of reasons, maybe based on mutual circles, differing opinions, or just random caution. It’s usually nothing personal, just part of being online.
