I'm single, and in the past I've been to all the usual places to meet a partner, night clubs etc.
I've also used my employment and hobbies to find a partner without success.

How did you meet your partner, or what are you doing now to find a partner?
I'm single again because my boyfriend passed away 2 years ago.😔
But I would still like to participate in your question.
I met him purely by accident. A friend of mine who lives in my apartment building entered a contest for the best Christmas decorated front door. He was also a friend of hers.
She invited both of us to her apartment to decorate her front door for the contest.
We didn't know each other until that night. He began pursuing me after that. He found little reasons to knock at my door, needing something. He had a small cut from shaving and knocked on my door to see if I had a bandaid to put on his little tiny cut. Hehehe 🤣
The rest was history. We fell in love ❤️ almost right away. The cute little excuses to knock on my door continued for about 2 weeks and then he was invited to come over after that.
We were a total surprise to each other. Eventually he moved in with me 4 years later and lived with me in total bliss until he died suddenly two years ago.
It's Christmas time again now and it brings back memories of when we met and decorated her door together. So, I am really missing him especially at this time of year.💔 🎄 🎁 ⛄
My last partner I met on this website. She's incredible. Never found a better match in my life, we were so compatible our bond defied the human understanding of physics. But unfortunately we ran out of time trying to bridge the distance, her life changed to where she didn't have time in my timezone and the lockdowns prevented me from visiting her when she needed me to be there.
Ultimately we dated/were together (We didn't put a label on it for a long time wanting to save that for an in person meeting. But at the same time had the guarantee the other would say yes if asked and we treated it as an exclusive relationship) for about 2 years. Unfortunately it ended right before the lockdowns did.
I hope ill ever be in a relationship like that again, so far nobody came close. She's a truly rare and amazing girl. She was beautiful, she was really smart, we could easily talk for hours on a level of depth that I can't find with other girls. She was incredibly social and perceptive. She tried my hobbies and ended up loving them. We had the same political views and very similar spiritual beliefs. Truly a match made in heaven. But who could ever match that? She was everything on my dream girl wish list that I expected to be an unrealistic list, and she even added a few things.
And best of all, neither one of us was love blind or pretending to be someone we were not. We truly loved each other for who we were.
How will I meet my next one? I have no clue, I am primarily just working on myself at the moment as I have some stuff to do before I can fully date and if a chance encounter does happen i'm fully open to it. If my ex wants to come back I'm also open to it (whichever one happens first). We'll see what happens.
Via computer dating back in 1970. This wasn't one of those $10 things. I paid $575. (in 1970 dollars) for the program. They required you to go to a doctor and get a full exam, and the doctor had to provide a certificate that you were free of communicable disease. During this time (a couple of weeks), they would have a private investigatorl investigate you to make sure that your were who you said you were, and that you were single. They didn't want married people who were just looking to fool around. They had you come in to take a battery of mental tests, including an IQ test, a problem solving test, and something else, I can't remember what it was. After all this data was compiled, they would have you come in for an interview with one of their staff psychologists.
After all that, they would put your information into the system and run it twice a month. If they didn't find a match for you the first time, they would run it again two weeks later. I went almost a year before I got my first match. If you got a match, they did it the old-fashined way. The guy was to make the first contact.
Their success rate was very high! I met my wife in early November of that year, and we got married the following February! We have at first blush NOTHING in common! But we've been together going on 55 years! Sure we've had our ups and downs, we've had our fights and disagreements, like everybody else. But I know that she will always be there for me, and I will always be there for her! I wouldn't trade her for a busload of fashion models! So somebody was doing something right!
Clubs and bars are great for hookups, but that's about it. So I've done dating apps, but I've met most of my partners just from living life
I was working as a graphic designer for this company. Well the use this other company to maintain the server. And one day it went all screwy so they call up the company and they send my future husband to work on it. And I don't know, but he had this way about him. How he held himself. So I stated flirting with him. He flirted back and we exchanged numbers. The rest is history.
I'm here to sprinkle a little love magic with my insights! I met my partner the old-school way—through mutual connections. I was all about those meaningful conversations, and we clicked like puzzle pieces. Sometimes it’s all about being yourself and letting fate do its thing! 💫 If you’ve explored the usual spots, maybe try something new like a cooking class or volunteering. Keep your heart open and let the universe woo you! 🥰 Love's a mysterious game, isn't it?

You think night clubs are one of the usual places to find a partner?

My opinion is, you're doing the right things, but just because you're looking doesn't mean you're guaranteed to find someone within a certain timeframe. All looking does is increase your chances of finding someone. But it also tires you out more because you're actively looking. That's why most people say "Once you stop looking, that's when you'll happen upon someone." or something along those lines. Because when you're not looking, you're putting no effort into it and putting no effort into something and still getting it feels more magical than putting the effort into it.
Although I don't have a partner yet, I met both guys on a dating app and just waiting for one to get done with basic training before I make my decision on who to pursue.
When I was single, I used online dating sites and had great success. That is how I met my wife.
The woman I was married to for 20 years before an amicable divorce, we worked in the same department, and got to know each other on a team in the company's co-ed bowling league.
My current wife and I met on a dating site.
I think partner dancing venues which include dance lessons are good places. Because the girls are rotated during the lesson part you get to meet all of them, and you immediately have something in common with every girl.
A big plus is there necessarily courtesy between the genders - it is very retro in that respect. You can walk up to any girl and ask her to dance whereas that might not go that well at a club. During the break period it is easy to chat with a girl, offer her a drink etc.
Maybe you hit it off, maybe you don't. It is just a far easier environment and there a lot of girls to rotate through.
I think that is a very good suggestion.
I've been to two dance classes, the first lasted 6 months or so, and the second about 6 weeks. They were very friendly, fun, a good night out, and I learned to dance badly too 😄
Unfortunately I didn't meet my partner, but there was a few females I would have liked to date, and I very much liked dancing with them.
I joined this group for people who are almost at the level to be independent but have developmental disabilities. One of my goals joining it was to get a girlfriend. I didn't expect to find my girlfriend through this group, just that it would help me find one. I actually found her in the group and since we've been together over 7 years and are engaged, I'd say that I achieved this goal. My mom was so happy she's part of the organization's board, because they did something with me that was not happening before (my fiancée was my first girlfriend)
We met in a very ordinary way, but it felt intentional.
Right person, right timing, nothing forced.
No chasing, no games just 2 people choosing each other a little more every time they talked.
Sometimes love doesn’t arrive dramatically.
It just shows up quietly and stays.
We met at a friend's party - she was a friend of a friend, and I met her again at another party six or seven months later, and that's when we finally started talking to each other.
A friend brought him to a mutual gathering. After that we had the same course in university.
We've been together since High-school and married 10 years.
In 1994, I enrolled in a pre-internet dating service called Great Expectations. They had offices.
I went on several dates before I found my future wife.
I'm single and not happy about it.
I did "find" several girls, but none of them managed to find me.
(yes, I was friend-zoned every time)
I know the feeling well.
In the church hall after mass. He was 20 and I was 14. I was so awkward when I was introduced to him, I swear my knees went weak shaking his hand and my underwear were soaked right through and I had to change them at home.
by chance... not planned
but it was at parties/reunions of friends to my friends or someone I happened to know... lol
My sweetie was my bestie in high school and we just took it up to the next level. Been 5 years. 😊
I guess I'd have to call it by chance. Met him at school at a party. It was random.
I'm still looking but not in a rush to find someone.
I always look for girls that won't waste my time and are always willing to fuck. A relationship meaningless and boring without sex.
Single rn. My last ex was from a dating app.
It was the day after I decided to give up on dating for a while or maybe forever.
I'm single nowadays and searching everywhere 😒 even tried this website but no success yet 😒
C. I'm single, and I'm interested to hear how other people met their love of their life.
At work🤷🏾♀️
In a parking lot we shared.
We worked at the same company.
I find my partners in all of the above
I'm single and not looking for a partner.
The polls tell a sad story 😭
Through years of looking, texting etc..
