If you found out that your significant other had an intimacy dream about someone other than you, how would you feel and what would you do?

Do you think dreams hold any sway over how we behave when we’re awake? If your significant other dreamed that they killed someone, would you worry that they might actually kill someone? Have you ever had a sex dream about someone other than your partner? Did you tell them? Did you end up cheating on them?
I think dreams are usually just dreams. Sometimes they might mean more, but who would fess up about a sex dream? Cheating is such a sensitive subject for a lot of people. Of course they’re going to say, “It doesn’t mean anything!”. Ironically, a lot of cheaters say that exact same thing when caught. Ell oh ell!
Is it better to just keep intimacy dreams to yourself in order to avoid conflict? Would guilt affect you if you did?

I’d probably feel a mix of curiosity and mild discomfort at first, dreams are involuntary, after all.

What matters more to me is how they process it afterward.

If it stays a private fantasy with no impact on our relationship, it doesn’t change how I feel about them.

Honest communication is key I’d want to talk about it openly, understand their perspective, and reinforce the trust and boundaries we share.

Dreams aren’t actions, they’re glimpses of the subconscious.

How we choose to act in reality is what defines a relationship.

Dreams don’t predict behavior, they’re just your brain cleaning house.
A violent dream doesn’t mean someone’s dangerous, and a sex dream doesn’t mean you want to cheat. Most people keep those dreams to themselves because sharing usually causes drama for no real reason. If it’s not a recurring issue or tied to real feelings, it’s okay to just let it go and not feel guilty.

I don't think we have full control of what happens in our minds. Dreams can sometimes have others in them. It doesn't mean you're not faithful and don't love your partner.

I have no issues with it. Dreams are dreams, they don't necessarily mean anything and can't be controlled. I'm happy for him to have spicy dreams, and tell me about them.

It wouldn't bother me one way or the other and I would do nothing about it at all, including not harassing her over it. People cannot control their dreams and she didn't choose to have that dream. So if she enjoyed it so be it.
