I've moved a lot in my life. One thing I've learned is that moving without high confidence that you'll like where you move to it is a crap shoot.

So the answer is maybe. I would want a trial run first. Not a short visit, but spending enough time in her state / country to get a realistic feel for what it would be like to live there long term.

Now that I'm retired it makes it easier since I don't have to worry about the job market. Although I would still need to worry about visas which might be darn near impossible if we weren't married.

Absolutely, was already the plan with my ex but the lockdowns made that impossible for to long. Does depend on the country though, the country has to be compatible with me and the languages I speak.

I think that moving to a new country with a different language is an even more satisfying experience and a challenge. But it's hard in the beginning.
