Does living hundreds of miles away from someone obliterate any chance of dating them and visiting them commonly is impossible?

That's pretty much a LDR and those are for the most part doomed unless you know it's temporary and you're trying to weather it for a while. I would stick to people pretty much in the same city as me, otherwise it's just adding unnecessary hassle to the relationship when planning to do anything together is made far more difficult than it should be. I wouldn't say it obliterates any chance though, because some people seem to be in to these LDR's for some reason.
