My boyfriend’s not bothered for Valentine’s Day?

I have been inconsistent with jobs. I met him starting one, 2 months later I stopped. I then was unemployed for 2 months, then found another retail job on a Christmas contract.

I’ve currently just started a admin 6 week work experience with a guaranteed interview at the end. I love the job, company and people.

This work experience is unpaid so I am still unable to contribute financially to the relationship. We still both live with our mums as we’re young.

I sleep at his house every weekend, my boyfriend has paid for takeaways, snacks, nails etc.
I wish I could pay for more but I’m unable to. He doesn’t really believe in Valentine’s Day, is that valid since he pays for most?

Valentines Day was created by Hallmark to sell more cards, in the period between Christmas and Easter. Did you ever notice that Valentines Day is almost exactly halfway between Christmas and Easter?

One doesn't have to celebrate Valentines Day if one doesn't buy into the hype.

Valentine's Day is a marketing scheme. They want to guilt trip people into spending their money. When I was young, Valentine's Day was a children's thing. We did it in elementary school. After about the age of 10-11, nobody did it. Then years later the marketing people pushed it hard. It's about money.

Nobody should EVER feel obligated to give a gift on Valentine's Day or any other holiday.

Stop feeling so entitled.

He’s allowed to have a preference. He’s already covering your food, nails etc. Tell him you’d like to spend time with him on Valentine’s but expecting presents isn’t something you should do.
