Should I be mad that my boyfriend didn't get me anything for Valentine's Day?

I spent a lot of money getting him a gift and he didn't even get me flowers... It just really hurt my feelings and now he's saying he's going to go out and get me some but it's just not the same, I feel like I shouldn't have to tell him to get me something... I had to beg to get today off work and it's been a total bust, we probably won't even end up going for dinner either. I don't know, im just really upset

I don't think like a chick but I sympathize with you. However, if you really care about your boyfriend you can make this a positive situation my showing him benevolence, instead of thinking about your girly feelings, put yourself aside and say I am glad I was able to do something special for someone I care about. And if the trend continues then you should talk to him about it and decide if he is the guy for you. Isn't Valentine's day about the other person in your life right? So you can be that awesome other person!

Well I see where you're coming from. Just because someone doesn't buy you something doesn't mean they don't want you. I know what it's like to be on the other side of this. I was the person with the dopey present compared to my selfless bf, unfortunately. It's hard to figure out what to get them, although girls should be easy. Just know that he still loves you, and that's something he can't buy for you.

We've been together for two years he knows I celebrate Valentine's... last year he didn't get me anything but we agreed not to get anything because we went on a trip instead. He told me two weeks ago he was getting me something which is why I spent a decent amount of money on him

I actually didn't throw a bitch fit... I picked him up from work and when one of his coworkers gave his gf flowers I said "oh that's nice" and he said 'yeah I didn't get you any sorry"

I didn't even really expect anything expensive, I would've been happy with even just flowers... but now he knows I'm sort of upset about it and he's only going to get me something because he knows that... It just seems stupid now. I almost wish I didn't spend all that money on him now.
