My ex-boyfriend and I started talking again a little over a month ago after being broken up for seven months and also being no contact.

From the start, he told me that he loved me, but doesn’t wanna be in a relationship with me when we first reconnected and that we can only be friends.

Which I never believed in the friendship thing.

Fast-forward to now , when I told him I love him he said I love you , I guess.

We are not officially back together.

What is the point is searching for deeper meaning, telling him you love him, going to go visit him (which will just amount to casual sex since he’s not offering anything more), when he doesn’t want a relationship with you and has specifically told you as much? it sounds to me like he has, at least in his mind, love for you. the fact that set on no relationship though is curious. i think you just need to try and guard your feelings a bit. he sounds unsure of how he feels and what he wants and as you love him it puts you in a vulnerable position.
