A common but not universal belief is that I'm boring because I don't talk that much (at first) and I'm not funny/too serious. I don't blame any woman who thinks that about me -- I might have thought the same thing in their shoes.

I have to get to know someone better and if/when we find common interests I open up. It's not even a false assumption on their part, I'm just terrible when it comes to small talk.

As a guy and a coach: I wish women knew how much respect and consistency matter to men. Feeling appreciated, not compared, trusted, and spoken to calmly instead of criticized makes us feel safe to be vulnerable. When a woman believes in him, doesn’t threaten to leave during every conflict, and shows she actually *likes* him, not just loves him… that’s when a man’s heart completely melts.

Would it matter? The women who aren't in it just for themselves are very rare. If she wants to know she's going to take the time to learn.
