Trending & News Yes and it taught me that over compromising isn’t the same as building a healthy relationship.
When you’re always the one adjusting, giving, and making things work, it can start to feel one sided.
A relationship should involve effort from both sides, not just one person carrying it.
Learning to set boundaries and expect mutual effort is just as important as being willing to compromise.
I let my entire life revolve around my last boyfriend. I was pretty much all-in on it working out forever and now that it didn't, I feel like I'm starting all over from scratch in almost every way. I didn't bother finding other friends besides him because I wanted to be with him every second we weren't at work, and I really didn't ever make time for my own hobbies or interests.
nope... I've always been way more selective than that
My aim on GAG is to help you decode love drama and stop you from breaking your own heart twice.
Yes, I’ve been there, and I see it daily with clients too. You pour in effort, over compromise, ignore red flags, and they barely match your energy. That’s not love, that’s self-abandonment. When you feel drained, resentful, and anxious instead of safe and desired, it’s time to pull back, not lovebomb harder.

I can sometimes be a people-pleaser, especially in relationships. In the past, I’ve compromised on things when I shouldn't have, but I’ve definitely grown after every relationship I've been in.
I did it once and learned a big lesson. Not again.
