Do you think there’s a limit to how many close friendships one person can maintain?

For it's true. I have a handful of friends that mean the world to me and I gladly make plenty of effort and time for them. That said it is time consuming (In a good way) to be a good friend. I couldn't make more time for that many new friends to be in that circle.

I have many people I'm friendly with that I see every so often and enjoy every moment of it, but I wouldn't say they're close.

Close would be call me at 2am and I'll get you out of jail, or help you if you broke down.

Logically there is as there is a limited number of hours in the day. But practically, you can have many close friends although many will say "two or three at most."
