You have to invest a lot of time, money, and energy into kids.

The public schools are absolutely horrendous and you have to spend a shit ton of money on private school or overseas to get a quality education for them.

Sure a daughter can just a husband who pays for everything, but your son is going to be an unemployed bum if you send him to the underfunded public schools where the teachers pay out of pocket for school books.
