Certainly not on purpose. I try to indicate early on that I'm not interested in more than friendship, this way I'm not leading the person on. MOST of the time we circle back and are friends after a time. But sometimes silence/distance are good.
There's one guy who was doing a hot-cold thing to me for two years... I can't honestly tell whether I broke his heart. I know I bruised his ego up, though, bc I wasn't tolerating his trifling nonsense in the end.
