Why would someone who I hurt and ghosted add me on Instagram after 10 years?

It could be out of simple curiosity, it just feels odd to add someone who ghosted you 10 years ago and, from her own words, badly hurt you and caused big issues with her relationships.

I was honestly horrible to her in the last few weeks we knew each other... I was incredibly selfish and couldn't step back and realise how much of an ass I was to someone who genuinely cared. I'm not going to into detail...

So I was looking through my Intagram suggestions from people I've got on Facebook already and people I've met over the years... then I stumble on her profile and it says "follow back".

I must have looked at those suggestions a couple of weeks ago or so...

There's obviously no way of knowing for sure, but based on our last talk, I'm stunned to see her add me on Instagram...

Maybe or just random curiosity. I don't interact with most followers. Either way, never want to speak again was probably true at the time but you'd hope they'd be over it after 10 years.

Ten years is a long time. People heal, grow, get curious. Her follow could mean closure, curiosity, a confidence flex, or just “no more hard feelings.”

If you feel genuine remorse, a short, calm “Hey, I know I hurt you back then, and I’m really sorry for how I treated you” can be healing.

Just don’t confuse a follow with falling back in love. It’s a ping, not a proposal.
