If you’re both past having romantic feelings then sure, why not.
I suppose it would depend on a lot of things, but I'm going to say probably not. If it were long term and we are not together then something major happened to cause it.
I would not want to drum up past feelings and possibly repeat mistakes. I don't want to tempt myself into thinking things may have changed. For those reasons, I believe when you cut ties then you move on.
