What career would you NOT want your partner to have, and why?

I honestly think someone’s career can definitely affect a relationship more than people realize. Certain jobs come with long hours, constant travel, danger, unpredictable schedules, or situations that might make a partner feel uncomfortable. Of course… trust and communication matter, but I think we all have certain lifestyles we’d struggle to deal with in a relationship.

For me, it would really depend on what the job required and how much it affected our life together.

Completely agree. Career matters a lot. It's literally how someone chooses to live their life, so it says a lot about them.

For me, being a nurse would not be a bad career if I didn't know it had such a high infidelity rate. Because it does take a nurturing kind of personality to do it. But the stats don't lie.

Then there's a bartender... I'm not completely against it, but they tend to be pretty social and get a lot of attention with guys hitting on them daily. The fact that they'd choose a job like that says a lot about them. I think conservative girls who only want the attention of their partner are much more enticing.

They say to never date an actor or actress because they can fake their personality very easily and you don't really know if they're being real with you or not. It's literally their profession to play different personalities and roles, so yeah... I wouldn't trust that personally.

I wouldn't date a personal assistant of a man either. Maybe I've watched too many shows, movies, and porn that I'm a little unfairly biased towards that, but I'll stick with it.

I don't think I'd date girls with masculine heavy labour jobs either, like construction, firefighter, etc. If you choose a job like that, it's likely you're a tomboy and really strong about that "strong independent and empowered woman" that doesn't need a man. I'd rather just avoid that altogether and save myself the hassle.

And finally there's obvious stuff like OnlyFans and porn. I'm sure there's more but those are the first that came to mind.

The main thing would be anything illicit or immoral. Some professions are known for cheating but that’s because the opportunity is there to cheat. Opportunities just show someone’s true colors. I also know that nobody falls in love with someone genuinely because of a job title but that’s another discussion.

I agree for some people though certain professions are too much with the hours as well as the physical stresses from the jobs that are either brought home or bottled up. Those people need someone who is able to empathize with them and distress them and if someone knows they don’t have what it takes they shouldn’t choose to be with them.

At the same time people can make different decisions later in life.

Ha! The picture you posted is the story of my life lol I will make it public and if I get hate, that's fine. My husband is an ATF agent and when I found out, after a few dates, I definitely had second thoughts.. Now we're married and I'm carrying our baby and worried if our son or daughter, is gonna be in law enforcement. I don't know what is worse, worrying about a husband being in law enforcement or a child possibly being in law enforcement. I know, I'm crazy!

Probably anything to do with the armed forces for the simple reason people who work in that sector are holders of firearms and paradoxically i wouldn't feel safe because in a moment of anger or an argument that gun could get pointed at me.

My career has always put a lot of strain on relationships. I'm constantly working, even when I'm home. Sometimes with barely any notice. On Monday I might find out that I need to get in a plane and leave for a few days by Thursday.

I could get a call at 5pm and need to be somewhere at 10pm and not get to leave till the next day.

So for a woman you're asking a lot from her. I kinda hope I find one who does similar type of work.
