Should I cut him off completely after ending things for religious reasons?

You’ve talked about this before and in all honesty I feel like these are just excuses to remain attached to each other, because you do have feelings for him but the religious stuff is too big of a factor. I think you would better served stepping back so that you can get past your romantic feelings for him, then explore friendship in the future if you are both still interested.

This is up to you. If you had a bad breakup, why would you follow this person if your values are diametrically opposed? Ex usually means you don't have contact for the former reasons.
