You either try to compromise together to figure things out if you both truly love each other and want to stay together. or you both go your separate ways and realize you both don’t align with each other anymore , and try to be respectful to each others’ decision. Kind of what happened to my ex and I , We got to a point in our relationship that we no longer saw eye to eye on things and instead of arguing and butting heads all the time like we were doing , we both realized we don’t hate each other , we just realized we are no longer good for each other because we both want different things , it’s not an easy thing to go through especially when 2 people love each other , but you can always love someone whether they are with you or not , love each other enough to let each other go , so now that I am single again , I am looking for a girl that I align with better , that doesn’t want to argue and butting heads heads like crazy 😂
I'm wondering how much "dreams" are even legitimate. Maybe we all just want to have fun and be healthy, and all disagreements about how that works are due to illnesses? ㅤ
They will handle it their own way, as they don't need our answers to something that is their business, not ours 😏
If I was one of these two people, I believe it would be the end of our relationship, because feeling that you're in the way of someone's dream for the future sucks big time.
Him: "I could have been someone",
Her: "well, so could anyone. You took my dreams from me when I first found you"
Him: "I kept them with me, babe, I put them with my own. Can't make it all alone, I've built my dreams around you. "
Sometimes love isn't enough to keep a relationship alive. We have to figure out if the relationship is worth compromising our dreams.
It's sucks and I've been there.
Sometimes we have to make choices that we don't want to make but we hope that those choices will better our future. That's how I try to look at it.
Look for common ground, if that ground can't be found then there's probably no reason to stick around unless both decide to drop their dreams for a new one together.
Okay I'll admit that was pretty cool, better to remember as a poem ha
The pain really hurts, but I’ve been waiting for her for over five years to come visit me from Europe and she never has and now we have another big problem on our hands and I don’t think she’s coming back this time
That usually signals the beginning of the end.
If their dreams changed then maybe they can change again.
I don’t think people need to dream the same dreams to walk alongside each other.
What’s important is that one dream doesn’t prevent the other
in my case... we took different paths
for the other to sacrifice and stop, give up their joy... was not an option
and we had mutual agreement in that regard
Separate parking spaces.
Figure out of their differences can be handled or make arrangements to part ways and look each other up later in life.
Let it go, because in the end what matter is the family first!
Her dreams should be at home with a big family.
I’d say that’s that and move on.
Communication and hopefully compromise.
Try to change the other person
See if there are compromises

My aim on GAG is to help people not confuse temporary storms with “it’s over forever.” 🌧️💘
When dreams stop matching, you’ve hit a massive turning point, not an automatic breakup. Both people should calmly lay everything on the table: goals, dealbreakers, timelines. If core values clash (kids, lifestyle, where to live), that’s a red flag. Either you co-create a new shared vision or accept it’s healthier to part ways than slow-motion resentful ghosting.
