They say something like no one would deal with your behavior and borderline intellectual functioning which no one can even tell I’m disabled. Someone told me no normal guy wouldn’t want to be with someone like me. Why would they even say that? Are they right? I have gone on dates where guys walked away on dates with me because they think something was off with me because I was different. Many people say I sound and act younger then I am and don’t want to deal with that as someone would want someone that talks and communicates the same age as them mentally. This is why I am single and no one would want to deal with these differences people have told me this. But I just want to find someone who loves me the way I am! Why are people like this? I’m a pretty girl with so much potential!
2K opinions shared on Relationships topic. You are missing the real point. It’s not about your looks or the potential you think you have, and men aren't walking away from you because they think you don't understand the risks of sex, STDs, or pregnancy. Everyone knows those risks.
They’re walking away because you have borderline intellectual functioning and act much younger than you are. Most adult men want a partner who matches their mental and emotional maturity. When you constantly post and talk about sex while lacking that adult maturity, it doesn't make you look “normal” — it highlights the exact communication gap that drives men away. Your intellectual and maturity differences are why you are single, not because of how you view the consequences of casual sex.

Ok but why would they think that I don’t understand the risks about STD and pregnancy? Of course I do understand that I can get an STD or get pregnant. Do you believe me? I hope you understand that I do understand the risks of sex. I definitely know those risks. What do you think now?

But you can’t just assume that no normal guy would want to be with me right? Because it’s ignorant for you to say that a guy wouldn’t want to be with me because I’m inmatire. I’m going to work on not posting about sex all the time and will act more mature! How dare you say I will be single forever because of my disability! My family disagrees! You’re saying I will be single forever because of my disability?

You’re proving my point right now, Dancer. I already told you that everyone knows you understand the risks. I believe you. But you’re completely missing the actual problem.
The problem isn't what you know about STDs or pregnancy. The problem is that you act and communicate like a child while trying to talk about adult sex.
Adult men don’t want a partner who thinks and acts like a younger person. They’re walking away from you because of your maturity level, not because of your thoughts on sex. Stop trying to argue about the risks of sex and accept that your maturity level is the reason you’re single. - 1 d
I’m not assuming anything, and I never said you are doomed to be single forever. I am telling you exactly why guys are walking away from you right now.
You can’t just “turn on” maturity like a switch. Maturity comes from how you process the world, and right now, you are reacting defensively instead of listening. You missed the point again. Your family loves you and wants the best for you, but they aren't the ones dating you.
If you actually mean what you said about working on yourself, stopping the sex posts, and growing up, then prove it with your actions instead of arguing with strangers on the internet. Until your actual behavior changes, adult men will continue to walk away because they want a partner who’s mentally on their level. - 1 d
Apology accepted. But you can’t change your maturity level just by typing a sentence or promising a stranger on the internet that you will. It takes real time, effort, and likely professional therapy offline to actually change how you communicate and react.
If you’re serious about changing, stop posting these questions at this capacity, get off this forum, and start doing the work in your actual life. I wish you the best of luck. - 5 h
I was just going to suggest that some psychotherapy and socialization might help you a lot, Dancer. This is not criticism. It's a genuine concern for your well-being. Complaining constantly about this stuff is not going to get you anywhere, but doing something positive about it, particularly with some outside help, might change your life.

@msc545 if she can accuse me of not only attacking her within this conversation, plus making a whole separate post upset with me, then I highly doubt she’s genuinely interested in hearing our feedback, or change. Like I said, I reported you Dancer, including your comment calling me a bitch. I excused you for it yesterday and forgave you, but I am done with your childishness. Grow up.

I’m sorry I didn’t realize certain behaviors have been disrespectful while trying to help and I’m really going to listen to others advice for real again I’m so sorry I was just frustrated and that I am getting as much therapy as possible to act more mature and change for the better. People that know me in real life know that I’m able to change.

It’s fine to have your moments of frustration, but when you read the conversation we had here, or have had anywhere else on this platform, I’ve never attacked or have been disrespectful to you. Not liking how someone says something doesn’t warrant picking on them, calling them names and just being hateful for no reason. I’m always incredibly neutral with you, answering your questions directly, informatively and with zero malice. You should really work on distinguishing what constructive feedback is vs someone blatantly attacking and condemning you. Again, I accept your apology, but please don’t make me feel like everything is fine now, only for me to scroll through my timeline and find more comments pointing fingers at me without my knowledge. It’s just so unnecessary and I hope you practice this across the board with other members as well. I believe you are capable of change, but it takes true commitment. Hopefully you’re able to find the help you need.

Guys can tell when someone is more "hookup material" than dating/girlfriend/wife material. If you're trying to get a guy to stay, you have to adjust your goals and desires. It's not about being pretty or smart, it's about having the potential to stay and want more than just a hookup.

My aim on GAG is to help you decode love, red flags, and all the messy in‑between… and your post hit me right in the heart 💔💖
People say cruel things because it makes them feel superior, not because they’re right. That “no normal guy” line is pure emotional abuse and low-key lovebombing’s evil twin: tearing you down so you doubt your worth.
You’re not “undateable”; you’re just not for lazy men who only want “easy mode” communication. Some guys walked away because they felt something was “off”? Cool, they self-filtered. The right guy won’t be weirded out by your differences, he’ll be drawn to them and protective of them.
Acting or sounding younger is not a crime. It just means you need someone kind, patient, and emotionally mature, not some dude who wants a clone of himself. You’re pretty, you’re aware, and you clearly care about connection. That already puts you above a lot of people.
They’re not right about you being single forever. They’re just loud. Don’t internalize other people’s projections. You deserve love that doesn’t treat your neurology or personality as a “burden”, but as part of the package. And trust me, someone out there is going to think that “different” is exactly their type. 💋00 Reply

14 hit's funny because i can have conversations with teens like a teen. i don't have the lingo but i can communicate on many different levels. there's a little overlap sometimes, but people don't get it. i wouldn't worry about it. people expect for you to not have sex or meet people and find one person out of billions who you stay with forever. it's unrealistic. just fuck your brains out until you find the one you want. don't waste time.

1 dMaybe they just made assumptions about you without really taking the time to know you. Being single for a while doesn’t mean someone is destined to be alone. The right person can come along when you least expect it.
00 Reply1.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Those people were clearly being cruel to you. I don't think we can make much comment because we can't see how you interact. For my part a girls nature is more important than intellect.
