me and my boyfriend are totally in love and talk 24/7..he mentioned how such a cute little girl walked into his job today and how he wants his daughter to look like she does one day, so that conversation lead into what we would name our kids and so forth..

we always talk about getting married and he says he never wants anyone else, and all that...

so his text said this "well I want to name my daughter Kevana"...so in my mind I was thinking he's referring to it as it just being his so clearly he doesn't plan on having children with me one day so then I responded and said, "well my husband will probably be italian so my kids name will be something in italian" ...even though I was kidding (hes puerto rican) ...he started cursing me out saying f you go find your italian husband and won't speak to me, ...so he thinks I'm not sincere when I speak of marriage and all that...

what does this mean? why would he get so mad at this?

You really took it the wrong way. People say "my kid" instead of "our kid" all the time. And yeah, think about how you would feel if he said something like, "well my wife will probably be Asian" (assuming you're not Asian, haha). It hurts, it makes you think they don't think you're the one.

Did you explain what you accidentally assumed when he said that? That's really what you need to do, be honest about what happened in your mind and apologize your butt off. It's easy to miscommunicate while texting, so stuff like this happens, and hopefully he'll get that it was just a misunderstanding.

You totally shouldn't have said that. If you're so in love, you don't go in say you're going to marry someone Italian. That's not the same thing as saying "well I want to name my daughter Kevana." He can use either word "my" or "our" when talking about his children. I understand his anger, but yeah, but make sure he knows you were joking and that you are sorry.
