What to do when your girlfriend is crying over phone?

I am in a long distance relation with my girl right now and I hate to say tat I made her cry. :(

So it goes like this - I couldn't give her all the time she deserves, these days even though I m trying a lot. And this time I promised her to spend some time with her and I end up having a stupid work meeting which I could not skip. So when I finally called her, she started crying and I felt so bad and I apologized..I Haven't ever saw her tat upset before and I dint have a clue how to comfort her over phone. So I just apologized and remain silent..she was upset and it all ended a bit weird. I feel like a jerk now. I love her a lot.

Wel..that was so dumb from my side but I really had no idea. I mean the last thing I want to do was to offend her with anything.

So my question is what to do when your girlfriend is crying while on call & the reason is u.
