I think that I speak for a lot of guys when I say one of the most annoying things (for guys with girlfriends) about having a girlfriend is being expected to sit, listen to, and actually pay attention/absorb a lot of the pointless chatter that girls often engage in. We really don't mind talking about something important, or really relevant to the relationship. But No one likes to feel checked up on, and a lot of the things that girls always want to talk about are things that actively don't care about. Lol. I'd say that a guy who is in touch with his Girlfriend 3-5 days a week is doing pretty well.

Sure, being out of contact doesn't mean out of heart. If the emotions are real and she's loyal, then being gone no matter if it was something like she's away for school, the man is away for war, someone went to prison, etc. Men can hold onto real feeling for years without contact. A few days without talking is nothings.

After reading the comments below, sounds more like you're the one that doesn't love him. You have to constantly be pampered in order to consider keeping him in your life. That means you don't accept him for who he is, nor do you seem to respect his time what so ever. He's just a monkey to sing and dance for you and keep you happy.

I broke up with my boyfriend over this and he totally panicked. I thought it was weird that he would say he loved me, speak about the future with me and then go days without communication. We are back together after working that out. Guys and girls are just different that way.

Totally different .. Mines always talks about our future , shows me so much love, all over me when we are together and around anybody

A few days without communicating is not the end of the world. My god, I'm a little bit surprised that women are so dead set on this idea. If he says he loves you, what do you need to be convinced of that everyday? Where is the trust, and if he's a busy guy I'd think that a girlfriend should be understanding of that.

@the question asker: Yes, a future with me our future lol he says he wants to marry me and is also all over me when we are together lol @philapenn he took on multiple jobs without telling me and kept me in the dark. I trusted him, but there was a lack of trust for me in him. I broke up with him to give him so room. I knew we weren't done for good :p

Yep, it happens. I've done the same thing for any number of reasons. I love him the same, but people need space at times.

Yes. If you're busy yuo might go a day or two without contact, it doesn't mean that you love her less. You just have a life and you're not a co-dependent person. If you're panicking because you've gone a day or two without contact with your BF, then you're clingy and need to adress why that is. Especially if you don't have anything really important to say. Especially if the guy has a busy job. You be secure in how they feel about you.

I would say if a man truly loves someone he will make the effort to text "hi", I mean how much effort is that? Regardless of how busy a person is there is 20seconds in a day to shoot off a quick text or 1minute to call and say hi or leave a message.

So if a guy is TRULY in love no he shouldn't go days without at the very least contacting his lover

I've gone weeks without talking to girlfriends. It can be done. It depends on the level of trust and the reason why there's no communication.

That's true, sometimes I like the space because its healthy that you don't smoother one another ( don't get me wrong I love having him around me every second) but I also like the fact that we give each other space enough to miss one another.. But nothing hasn't gone wrong and I know he is deeply in love with me .. It's great to get a guys response on this question .. Now I know it's normal
