Why do guys sext other girls when you are in a relationship

my boyfriend and I have been living together for 8 months. He still sexts and emails with other chicks he finds on craigslist in our area. I have asked him before to stop and he does for a little while but starts up again. he has to know it's cheating cause he hides or deletes them. he has never actually met with these girls but since they are local I am worried he is going to do more than just talk and trade pics if he had the chance. I don't know what to do. I really love him and I know he loves me but... is this an addiction I should be worried about. please help. I have tried everything. from looking cute all the time to waiting on him hand and foot to show him that I love him and am right there. I try to let him see what is right there in front of him and he still JUST chats...

some people are strongly attached to the fantasy that is the internet. Most people are unsatisfied with things in reality compared to how wild things look in come off as in the internet. Worst thing is that he doesn't listen and as hard as it seems it doesn't matter how good you look or how well you treat him. You're a always the same person, kinda like a routine. people do the same thing day in and day out and it becomes boring and predictable.

I don't think it's an addiction though, rarely is it something so outlandish as addiction. it's more like a thrill, kinda like finding someone new to have a relationship with. At first you talk and talk because you don't know anything about each other, but then you talked about everything. You run outta things to talk about, start trying to find new things to do together. If he's looking elsewhere he's not realizing what he has anymore and is looking for a new thrill. I'd say take the initiative and go on the offensive. ONLY ONE PERSON IS GONNA TAKE CARE OF YOU, and that's you.

Agreed with dDizzie. Kick him to the curb, take your stuff and move out, or kick him out. There is no respect there for you or the relationship. You just fill the void for him when some other chick is not around. Get what you deserve, unless that if you think you already have it...

As a guy, he shouldn't do that. His head is messed up because he lacks conscious about you, meaning he doesn't sympaze and empathize in this situation. Guys like this are hard when it cmes to changing that habit, because it is usually ingrained in their character. So this leaves you with two options, you can either break up with him (which is the easier option), OR you can try to change him by being more vigilant, and by telling him about the situation more emotionally (which takes more time, effort, and patience).
