There are 3 stages of love. I think I am in the attraction stage. I am literally head over heels for this kid and he literally is all that is on my mind day in and day out.

I found this article particularly interesting and at the bottom has 34 minute experiment on "how to fall in love" I will copy/paste it here but definitely open up this one page article and read about the stages. Apparently during the attraction stage your brain is releasing so much dopamine that it mimics the effects of cocaine. Hence the term love is a drug.

ANYWAYS THE EXPERIMENT:

"And finally … how to fall in love

1. Find a complete stranger.

2. Reveal to each other intimate details about your lives for half an hour.

3. Then, stare deeply into each other’s eyes without talking for four minutes.



York psychologist, Professor Arthur Arun, has been studying why people fall in love.

He asked his subjects to carry out the above 3 steps and found that many of his couples felt deeply attracted after the 34 minute experiment. Two of his subjects later got married.

This is an argument my friend and I got into earlier today. She made an observation that people mainly choose friends based on looks and age. I've honestly never observed this, and I don't do this myself so I told her that she wrong. I have many friends who are overweight, skinny, average, etc. I choose friends based on how well we connect. I've never taken looks into consideration. I also have friends in all age groups. My cousin is 17 and I get along with her friends. I have friends in their 30's and 40's as well.

She says she only hangs out with good-looking people and people in their 20's. However, she is wrong since she hangs out with me and I think I am ugly.

Help solve an argument please. I want to show her this page if I get enough answers. Who is wrong and who is right? I personally think I am right.

Guys, when you are busy, stressed, or feel low about your work/job/school, do you want time alone OR do you want to spend time with a girl you love?

I've been dating a guy for 2 months and when something work related comes up, he would distance himself from me. I don't know if he's loosing interest or stressed out.

Let's just say I know for sure he's not out partying or hanging out with friends.

My boyfriend and I are together for a year and 2 months. We are very close and have met each others families plus we cuddle a lot and he's always very affectionate with me and all over me (even in public) and we do sleepovers, and we both love each other very much...

He also has this platonic female friend which he knows for a long time now (way b4 he met me). She always uses him to the maximum and asks him to buy her things and ask him for favors and she yells at him if he doesn't do as she says. She is a fighter type of a girl who yells ans she's very feisty (totally not his type and way too much of a fighter for him, plus she's of a mixed breed which he can't marry or bring into the family - he even said so himself, plus he has said that he would never marry her or date her).

I discovered that were planning a trip together to Quebec or somewhere around there (he didn't tell me anything about it - I discovered it myself, and I've met this girl and know about her and he has told me about her when I asked him)



Is it right for my boyfriend to travel with his platonic female friend since he has a girlfriend (me)? or is it OK since were not married or engaged yet?

By impossible love I mean when you two know you love each other, but for some reason, you cannot be together. It's not a Romeo and Juliet story; there is no chance you can be together.

I'm wondering what your opinion is. I actually think impossible love would be harder. Unrequited love is hard, but you can and will eventually get over it and move on. But can you move on from someone you know loves you?

So this question comes from an episode the other weekend where my boyfriend was ridiculously drunk ... Got all drunk an emotional and started talking about how he'd be devastated if I left him and how I'm the first girl he's ever loved etc. basically drunken, overly emotional rubbish.

Anyway, he's rarely sappy or romantic normally and it got my thinking... Drunk words, are they sober thoughts or just rubbish?

My boyfriend and I have been together for a year and a half. We used to always have our hands on each other, but now... it seems like he doesn't want me anymore. He only gives me pecks on lips, say lovey dovey things to me anymore, sex is barely once or twice a month, just everything kinda seems dull...he sometimes hardly ever says he loves me anymore too..

What would you do?

I've talked to him about his behavior many times... it'll be okay for a few days but then go back to dull again.

My boyfriend frequently does this, and says I shouldn't get angry about it.

We have been together for almost a year and a half.

We see each other, maybe 3-4 times a week.

Can you tell the difference between loyalty and love? Is there a difference? When abused women stay with a man who is so hurtful to them, do they stay because of love or because they have become loyal? Of course when you love someone you are loyal, usually. But when you are loyal to someone, does that mean you love them also?

I get it, it's 2011 and both sexes are equal in most aspects of our lives today. However, I get the feeling that sometimes guys need to reestablish their dominance and masculinity in some aspect, to compensate for another area in which they lack that.

Say your girlfriend is REALLY successful at her job - and you're broke and/or unemployed. Some guys find that emasculating, and need to reaffirm their "virility" by compensating in other areas (i.e: bedroom). This is just a theory I'm putting to the test by asking YOU guys.

Do men feel more comfortable being on the more dominant side of the relationship? After all, we DO have a primal side to us that we'll always preserve, alpha and all that. Or are you indifferent- or even VERY comfortable having less "power"?

Feel free to present other examples, the financial one was off the top of my head.

Me and my guy best friend. We've been through many ups and downs and we've always come out stronger. I am the type of person if we have any problems, I like it to be solved quickly and efficiently while he likes to wait many days to cool off. Anyway, me and him, we've been close and me and him end up liking each other and things happened. Anyway, I am good friends with his ex-girlfriend and well, I told his ex-girlfriend that things happened between me and him. I was going to tell him on the night I told my friend but he was busy so I waited. Anyway, he found out before I got the chance to say anything. He got very upset and started to ignore my calls, text messages and wouldn't even read any of my messages. I left him messages on Facebook and he hasn't replied. He even deleted me off Facebook! I didn't think I did anything wrong. I wasn't upset when he told his best friend about us and was fine with it. And when I tell one person, he deletes me off Facebook. I didn't think it was a big deal but I am wrong. I know I am at fault and I've been trying to contact him to talk but he won't even reply at all. What do I do? I don't know what to do.

She asked me. I didn't go off running and telling her. She didn't tell him I told her. He guessed that she knew because unfortunately, she is very easy to read.
