This is an image of the sanitarian woman who was met by Jesus at the well while going about her daily chores
I can relate to this story because the well is a symbol for hope and personal investment and Jesus said faith in God is like water welling up to eternal life
When I first entered university I was taking one class a semester and failing while studying 9 hours a day and in my final two year of school I studied 2 hours a day while taking 3 and 4 classes and got perfect As in all 3 and 4 classes.
It was not an immediate process - my grades increased by an average of 8% a year and my course load increased by 1 from one year to the next
Eventually all I got was pure As and I sometimes studied only one hour a day
I believed in myself. The world was telling me I was a stupid failure not intelligent enough to go to the worst community college in the country and get a passing grade while taking only one class a semester but I was telling myself in my head I was a top student and would get my PhD from Harvard one day. In the end my belief in my God paid off cause I got straight As for 2.5 years in a row.
The woman at the well put her hope in God despite coming from direly bad social circumstances and receiving no real social respectability or status or inclusion in her community.
Even worse, because of her terrible background and personal failures, the only relationship she understand was a sexual one.
True love exceeds the bonds of sexual love and until you understand that and learn to process it you will be incapable of practicing or receiving real love.
even in the presence of sexual love, true love exists alongside it and is unmoved by it.
To practice true love you require accountability and objectivity and spirituality
This is why Jesus said you are the salt of the earth
Because salt has no sexual properties whatsoever and yet it is essential and flavourful and undiscriminating and satisfactory
That is the nature of salt
Through Jesus’ therapeutic discussion at the well with the woman, he taught her to receive love in a pure way by first teaching her how to give love in a pure way and also to seek a love based on hope and health and potential and modesty as symbolized by the water
And not a love of sexuality or physical ties
So by hoping in God - God will answer you - no matter how bad your original circumstance or starting point is
My current goal is to do my graduate degree in the best university in Canada
And than do my PhD at Harvard
And with my perfect As in the last 2 years it’s finally achievable cause I sometimes got 27% above the class average as a full time student
