Three Activities that Help Me Grow and Learn Wisdom

Three Activities that Help Me Grow and Learn Wisdom

1. Venting to Insightful Non Participants

I remember complaining to a woman saying our friend was evil because he yelled at me and her response was, maybe he was having a bad day and you just happened to be around when he wanted to release tension, I never thought of that but it made sense.

Another time I told my friend my cousins did not deserve romantic happiness because the would exploit and use and betray and cheat on their lovers for physical or financial advantages and my friend said, “I feel sorry for them because they sound depressed. You can’t be happy if you lack empathy and view everybody you meet as a stepping stone to validate your social status.” It never occurred to me to pity my family or to view them as victims of their own ignorance, I used to vilify them as aggressors.

This is why having objective non participants who are unbiased and compassionate can be useful in helping you restructure your perspective and minimize your judgments towards others.

2. Keeping a group writing journal or collective writers group or group self expression coalition or attending poetry or toaster master speech competitions.

I learned in my first creative writers club that I have rich cultural experiences that make me circumstantial my unique and that concealing the misfortunes of my family made me more socially relevant and influential. I learned in another group that no human can be my saviour and the only person who will ever take care of me perfectly is my God and myself and that I have what it needs to be successful and happy. I learned in another group that reality has multiple perimeters of recognition and how an event can be perceived is very diverse and unpredictable and I also learned that emotional realities can shift when the physical reality does not.

3. Emptying your mind after feeding your soul with questions and quotes and ideas and fact.

I find when I have recently contemplated an idea that solutions and answers will appear to the question when I chose to sit still and empty my mind and many times, I’m too busy noting the facts to actually continue with my meditation in any reasonable capacity, if you have a question and do not know how to respond, I recommend emptying your mind and writing down the answers that spontaneously appear in your head when you attempt to do this.
