What I get from Proverbs 19:18

This is obviously a verse about raising children but a tangential offshoot idea that I got from studying this verse is,

”Humble people don’t fight to win the prize, they fight to show God they care and love him enough to fight for what they want.”

Just like volunteers that help dying people knowing the person won’t get better

They fight because it’s an opportunity to serve God, not because they believe they are big enough to change the outcome that time and nature has set.
