My Interpretation of Haggai 1

Haggai 1 shows you:

(Thus) Says your Lord in Heaven:

9 “You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?” declares the Lord Almighty. “Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with your own house. 10 Therefore, because of you the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth its crops.

My Interpretation:

The Lord is admonishing those who focus on their own morality and character cleansing but ignore the joint cleansing of their neighbours and friends and family by refusing to pray for them or share love and kindness with them, so that they can have the tools they need to discern the right path, this is why, God withholds full and adequate cleansing from their lips and heart, because they refuse to use the free time they are blessed with to cleans and purify and bless others who have served them with time or manual workmanship and tokens of affection, or financial commodities.
