Today I ate an $800 meal with my cousin, my parents and my dads brother and sister in law and I was not happy at all.
While hanging out with rich family members, I get no control over my life. I’m expected to exercise and walk when I’m tired and in pain and I’m expected to wake up early when I’m sleep deprived and I have constant arguments over how wild and uncontrollable these risk takers are.
I’m also judged constantly for my social performance, how intelligent I sound when I’m describing my olive oil preferences, how formal and classy I look when I walk, how wise and proper I look when I order my alcohol. I’m expected to sit in uncomfortable chairs until my back hurts because it’s considered classy and proper. I am forced to do stupid activists because it’s considered proper such as waiting until I finish my meal to order desert.
I feel tainted and impure by overworking the restaurant staff and eating all this expensive food when people are starving in Africa. And the food makes me fatter and further from my weight loss goals.
