Yes. The parts of the Bible that people use to try to prove that homosexuality is a sin were translated and interpreted incorrectly.

The most cited example is "man shall not lie with man."

Etymologists and bible historians believe that this would more accurately be translated as "man shall not lie with boy." At the time that the Bible was written, it was a fairly common social practice for a man to "sponsor" a young male child. He would pay for his education and often buy things that the family could not afford and in exchange, the little boy's family would allow the man to use the child for sex. That phrase in the Bible was intended to prevent pedophilia and rape, not to prevent homosexuality.

You apparently read some Gay supported site that pushes the notion that God is love so that he is ok with everything. God is NOT ok with homosexuality or he would have not destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. If he was ok with homosexuality he would have only created one sex. The Bible says he is not ok with it and calls Homosexuality an abomination. Other verses supporting God's views are Romans 1:25-32, 1 Corinthians 6:9, and Jude 7.

I actually read the Bible, and in several sections I have gone through the etymology of the terms one by one. This doesn't come from a website. I came up with it myself when reading about the time period in which the Bible was written, as well as translating it from the original Hebrew.

Another section that I have gone over is that of Sodom and Gomorrah. The reason that God punished them was because they were rapists. The fact that they happened to also be gay doesn't change the fact that they were planning on having sex with someone against his will. That's why God punished them. The fact that we have interpreted the word sodomy to mean something entirely different says nothing of the original intent of the passage. That passage is meant to say that rape is wrong, as well as send a message about hospitality. It has nothing to do with homosexuality.

God didn't create one sex because then people wouldn't be able to reproduce. Also, by that logic, if God wasn't okay with beastiality he would have only created one species.

Romans 1 isn't about homosexuality either. If you pay attention to the context that this story is in, Paul is condemning people for worshipping false Gods. At the time the most common of those was Cybele, the worship of whom involved same sex sexual rituals. Paul is condemning a very specific practice. If he wasn't, he wouldn't have waited until idolatry was so much of an issue to say it.

As for Corinthians 6:9, the word which was later translated to "men who have sex with men" was originally arsenokoitai. That term was not used at the time to describe homosexuality. It was used to describe men who do one of four things, those things being rape, have anal sex with their wife, have sex with angels or the gods, or masturbate. That term wasn't really ever used to describe homosexuality, so that was just a very bad translation.

Finally, Jude 7 is just another reference to Sodom and Gomorrah, which I've already addressed.

Yes. They’re wrong. Because people were homophobic at that time that it was translated. Nearly everyone was. People have biases and those biases make their way into everything that they do.

And the problem with wanting to have sex with angels, is the fact that they’re angels. Not the fact that they’re men. The word itself meant men who have sex with angels. Nothing was implied about homosexuality.

There are plenty of instances where God didn't particularly care about whether or not people knew they were committing a sin. It was still a sin. Particularly, I'm thinking of when Abraham would lie and say that he wasn't married to Sarah, and then kings would be punished for pursuing her, as well as their entire country, because they pursued a married woman, even if they didn't know she was married at the time. So yes. The issue is that they were angels, and they don't need to know that they are angels in order for that to be true.

And if you would like evidence that homophobia existed at that point in time, just look to the number of men who were killed for homosexual activity. They translated the Bible in a way that reflected the views that they already held.

Romans 1 talking about men having sex with men being ungodly uses the exact same Greek word for "men" each time, and it exclusively refers to adult men.

But then verse 32 sums up the current ultraliberal theology "who knowing the judgement of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them." (Romans 1:32)

I'm not aware of any passage of the Bible in which anything nice or tolerant is said about the gays. It just says that they should be stoned to death, and that the sexually impure (presumably meaning the gays as well as the other sexually deviant acts listed) will go to hell.

The key words are "Those who PRACTICE these things". You can be a homosexual at heart but never engage in the sexual sins related to it. But, if you know it is wrong and against God's laws but do it anyway and basically stomping on the blood of Jesus and not repenting. Without repentance there is no forgiveness of sin, we are still under God's judgement.

Being put to death in the modern sense would probably be contracting HIV as a gay man when you put your dick in a dude's ass. Kind of like an omen of things to come, whereas in the old days, people were actually killed for it. Since people nowadays won't kill for it, HIV will kill them.

This is just my own interpretation, and may not reflect what it's truly saying, but I've found taking the Bible at face value often is a very reliable guide.

No, he merely lets events happen. The people would be killed indeed, but by disease (in the modern sense) or in other countries where homosexuality is shunned, they would literally be found.

Yes, I believe it is moral. The only reason every single atheist brings this point up is because they believe that there is no immortal soul, that death is the worst and utter tragedy, and the absolute end of existence. Death is a mercy sometimes. If you believe in Jesus as your eternal Saviour, death is a mercy to carry you off to Heaven after tribulation, or perhaps if you would have too great an evil coming your way, and God would be merciful to end it before you were ruined. We don't know why God would allow people to die at certain times, but there's always a reason. Death is necessary to sustain new life. Out with the old, in with the new. Everyone on Earth has a pre-determined expiration date. Some die old, some young, some middle-aged.
