Trump tweets quote calling him the "second coming of God" to Jews in Israel

Less than a day after President Donald Trump outraged many members of the Jewish community for his comments about their loyalty, he tweeted out the claim that Israeli Jews view him as the "second coming of God."

In a series of tweets Wednesday morning, Mr. Trump quoted conservative radio host and known conspiracy theorist Wayne Allyn Root, who practically declared the president the Messiah during his show Tuesday night.

Quoting Root's tweet, Mr. Trump shared the message that he is "the greatest President for Jews and for Israel in the history of the world," that "the Jewish people in Israel love him like he's the King of Israel" and even that "They love him like he is the second coming of God."

Mr. Trump said "Wow!" and thanked Root for the "very nice words."

Root is a self-described "Jew turned evangelical Christian" and the author of a 2015 book titled "Angry White Male: How the Donald Trump Phenomenon Is Changing America," which had a forward by now-indicted Trump associate Roger Stone.

Root is also known for promoting bogus right-wing conspiracy theories. He attended Columbia University while Barack Obama was also studying there, then later falsely claimed that Mr. Obama did not actually attend the school. More recently, he falsely said on Twitter that the 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas, which killed 58 people, was an act of Muslim terrorism. The gunman was not Muslim and investigators were unable to determine a motive.

Polling shows that a majority of Jewish Americans identify as Democrats and did not vote for Mr. Trump in 2016.

Someone wanting to keep what they earned and not expand programs that make people dependent on the government does not make them evil.

I personally think that private charity can match or even surpass government aid if people on both sides and in the center would give a little more and stop waiting for other people to solve the problems in this world while they sit at home and smell their own farts (Search "Smug Alert" to see what I'm referencing). This is an awful question for a whole host of reasons. I believe that Trump is a good President in terms of his performance in office with policy, however, on the side of personal affairs he is the lowest of the low.

Thankfully, I vote based on ideological compatibility. There are nuances in politics and peoples opinions therein and creating a false duality where you either think that Trump is the second coming of God, or a mentally ill individual is disrespectful to the intelligences of all those on GAG.

I'm mixed in my opinion. He's no god, but he's doing what needs to be done. For example, we had to confront China eventually. On the other hand, he suffers from classic Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD).

Historically speaking, unstable people in power usually and inevitably cause more damage in the long run. My man Napoleon and Caesar, despite being some of the greatest leaders in history, eventually developed God complexes that led to their defeat. Their egos infected their ability to think rationally, and I can assure you that people with NPDs are no better.
