Some say you will make it to Heaven if saved and commit the act of suicide but you will lose your opportunity at Heavenly rewards.
Please share your views on how suicide will impact your afterlife!
I would assume suicide is unforgivable, similar to how there is no sacrifice for murder or rape in the Old Testament law. If you kill yourself it must be because you have no respect for God.
Speaking of blasphemy, you're aware that the person who spoke that verse blasphemed God too, right? Claiming God is a man violates both the First and Second commandments, and portraying the Spirit of God as a Dove violates the Second Commandment.
The point is you can't repent of the sin when you commit suicide, which is a condition of forgiveness.
Christ died for original sin. Transgressions committed after baptism are only absolved through reconciliation and acts of penance
@stuntbrain You sound like you are Catholic. That is not what the Bible says. Christ died for our sins, once and for all time. No longer will a high priest have to shed the blood of a lamb to forgive us for a year. Christ's blood is on the mercy seat, not a lamb's and we are forgiven by that blood for all time - past, present, and future. Christ also intercedes for us as He sits on the right hand of God in Heaven that we are His, bought with a price which was His blood.
@AllieOops You're partially right. I was at one time, so my knowledge is based on Catholicism. If Christ's sacrifice automatically forgives sin, then ascent to Heaven must be guaranteed. Is Hell empty?
@stuntbrain As it says "You have been saved by grace, not of any works that some may boast of." God's gift of grace is good only if you accept this gift and accept Christ as your savior and then repent of your sins. If you do not accept a gift then you don't have it, do you? You are still in your sins and there is no forgiveness if there is not the shedding of blood and repentance.
@AllieOops That must mean that Jesus doesn't provide salvation for all, since those who dismiss God's grace become ineligible of his mercy
Gifts of conditional impetus are rewards at best, at worst they're bribery
@AllieOops but you must ask for it , at the time of death the book is closed , your fate determined.
@stuntbrain Well that is a given. You don't accept God's gift then you are right, you will die in your sins.
Do you see any issue with that scenario? There's no real choice to be made when the other option is eternal damnation. That type of logic would consider armed robbery as a legitimate decision between giving up your cash and getting shot in the face
@stuntbrain Say you were to tell everyone in a town meeting that you brought a pot luck dish for all to partake of. Some would not like the dish and what it offered. They really liked the taste of pizza so chose to skip the girt and go their own way to Dominos. So they refused the gift to go their own way. It therefore was refused and they didn't get to partake of it. The same with Salvation. They decide the price they have to pay is too steep for them as they would rather have fun. So the refuse it and to them it avails them not so they did in their sins.

Romans 1:24-26 24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator-who is forever praised. Amen. 26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones
Ohh I see now! Deciding to eat Domino's pizza is like an afterlife of endless suffering and despair in the burning torment of Hell for the rest of time
@stuntbrain No, it means they rejected Christ as their savior so his shed blood was also rejected by them. I would guess you would call this one of the unforgivable sins because to reject Christ means there is no forgiveness. If the governor gave you a pardon but you rejected it you would still be in prison.

Suicide is the murder of yourself, and murder is a sin oh, and God can only forgive a sin if you ask for it. A successful suicide means you'll be dead by the end of it, so you won't be alive to ask for forgiveness, unless you survive the attempt or are later resuscitated.
Catholics believe you can after you die because you go to a place and from there you can go to heaven or hell. They are wrong m but they believe that.
There is only a few sins that are not forgivable but suicide is not one of them. But if you are not saved any sin has not been forgiven, suicide then being one of them. Therefore in the scope of things it just takes one to go to hell so suicide or stealing is no different.
To be honest I don't think there is one answer to this. None of us is God and I don't think God has one answer for everyone. I guess it depends on the circumstances of every individual. Some may be forgiven and others not, but I think if God is the most forgiving, eventually everyone will be forgiven and given a chance.
Everyone has to pay a penalty for their sin. It is either you or someone who took the bullet for you. Jesus was that person. But if you didn't accept His gift then it is you that will be judged and that means separation from God. If you are not present with God you will be somewhere else. There is no forgiveness for sin without the shedding of blood. Jesus shed that blood on the cross. Hebrews 9:22
Sin must be asked to be forgiven, if you are dead you can;t ask for forgiveness, there for you go to hell for murder , murder of oneself. Now if you are a soldier and know if captured you be tortured and kill yourself, it won't be held against you (pardon). If you are out of your head and don't know what you are really doing (pardon). If you just had a bad day and kill yourself, you would go to hell. If broke up with boyfriend, and killed yourself, hell. If you had cancer and killed yourself , hell. If you broke the law and killed yourself to avoid prison, hell.
Nobody knows how God looks like or what he think like and nobody know what happens after you die.
No humans beings is capable and have the capacity understand that kind of things.
It's just to depress and confuse people by Bible's stories.
If you commit a suicide you go by yourself and life will continue forever.
It's just like taking an exit on a high way.
I am not religious but read the bible. Jesus legit died for all the sins. And all can be forgiven. It's pretty clear on this in the new testament that sins don't matter because all has been forgiven past, future and present sins.
There is nothing in the Bible that says you'll go to Hell if you commit suicide.
thou shalt not kill, you people know nothing about the bible and yet all you liberals misquote and criticize it. It is like someone without a degree in law explaining the law.
@888theGreat it means thou shalt not murder
@reptocarl2 Kill can be murder , and can be gossip that kills a person by reputation
@888theGreat Yes that refers to killing people other than yourself (Homicide). It's not referring to suicide because if you go by the Old Testament it says "He that kills a man shall be put to death" this obviously meant only for homicide since there is supposed to be a penalty imposed on the person who did the killing by the human authorities. Well guess what? If they already killed themselves then this penalty is not able to be implemented.
So your wrong. It also may say that it's wrong but it doesn't say you'll go to Hell for killing yourself period.
Thou shalt not kill, that includes yourself, because you are to protect your body's temple , you destroy your Temple..
@888theGreat Yeah again 1 John 5:13-17 Not all sin leads to death. Read the passage.
So no murder is a different sin than suicide. I'm not denying that suicide is a sin but it is not a sin that will have you end up in Hell.
There’s only one unforgivable sin and suicide isn’t it
technically didn't Jesus commit suicide? I am not a religious person so forgive me if I am wrong
no he was put to death. he had a trial and was condemned. You are wishing and hoping for what you want but not what is
There were six suicides in the Bible none were condemned. That unforgivable shit is from Catholics and like everything else they think it’s wrong
Judas went to hell
@888theGreat you don’t know that
I do know that
@888theGreat then so is Sampson
Samson
Sampson disobeyed and died , but he didn't kill himself
@888theGreat yes he did. It was a kamikaze death
Suicide doesn't allow confession of sin or seek forgiveness
If blasphemy is unforgivable, then didn't Jesus die for MOST sins?
