Do You Believe That A God Actually Exists?

I seen a woman say god can’t exist, cause if he did he wouldn’t have allowed her uncle to rape her. I feel that is a valid point. A lot of things people do or have done give me doubts as well. Like why would a god allow men to rape babies? It’s weird.

Not really. I could understand belief in, say, the Greek gods - they were described as fickle and petty, which seems accurate based on the real world.

The christian definition of god being omnipotent, omniscient and benevolent though... I can't personally understand that belief, when you look at all the suffering in the world.

I could also understand people not believing in a god as such, but believe in fate or destiny instead. There's not much evidence against or for such a thing existing.

I personally believe fate exists, but I don't believe in gods.

If we were to know Gods reasons, we would stop demanding that He end our suffering and others suffering! Just because God has good reasons does not mean we should ignore the pain that people are going through.
When something terrible happens God wants us to cry out and protest to Him! He wants us to feel compassion and mercy. These feelings we would never think to have if we understood that God has good intentions.
For example:
A woman giving birth goes through a lot of pain. Her family outside could be very happy whilst she is screaming! Why and how is that? Because they understand and know the ultimate good- she is having a child.

The Asker touches on the Epicurus Paradox. Which certainly poses a big problem for theists.

But I'm unconvinced a god exists for a better reason, simply the absense of evidence. Theists consistently fail or make no attempt to present evidence or a compelling argument for their claim. Yet if it was true, they would not have the difficulty they do.

I said no, but obvi the answer is “I don’t know.” Probability would say no, since there’s been hundreds of gods and none of them have been real.

I don't know. I just go with my beliefs. Praying is psychological for me. Cause if we compare the true origin of universe and organisms, God plays no part
