I personally don't have a definition of God. To me, the task of defining God is up to those who choose their own imaginary superstitions or accept those of another.
People have differing definitions for God. Some people go by the general "celestial knob twiddler" idea in which God created all there is and can intervene in one's life and answer one's prayers. Others take a more hands off view of God and just believe God to be a kind of deliberate cosmic initiator and nothing else. Then you have the idea that God is objective morality or all of the above plus that. There are even those who just get the word "everything" and replace it with "God" in a semantically manipulative justification for renaming existence to fit their idea.
So, there we have a few examples. What is your definition? One of those, or something else?

I'm mostly in agreement with the Asker, I typically leave it to the theist I'm talking to to define their god. There's no point in talking passed them with a god definition the theist doesn't actually accept.
There are however a few god definitions I will not accept. The first that springs to mind is how North Koreas leaders are deified with supernatural traits. I don't care if NK believes their president to be a god, they don't actually exhibit any traits that I would actually associate with a god. The other definition is when theists try to just describe the Universe or 'Love' as a god. Their god definitions aren't gods, they're just taking extant concepts and using flowery language to get around the fact that they're just basically atheists who haven't realised it.
The human instinct to rationalize random events as having meaning controlled by an overseer because the idea that death is permanent and all things are meaningless is too difficult to believe.
There is no definition that ever can define the Almighty creator who is beyond us, our time, our imagination...

Me as a Muslim woman, never got convinced God is a Son, or a father, or a trinity, God is beyond dying on a cross for the sins of others.

God in Islam has no description, as prophet Muhammad {Pbuh} in the narrations said, God is beyond our comprehension, we can't and won't tolerate seeing him in this world, it's too much to bare for our brains to accept God's image...

God is the atemporal, non-contingent, immaterial, transcendent reality beyond our own that made it possible for our physical realm to come into being. I'm not at all "religious" (I actually despise organised religions), but whether or not there is a 'God' is something that no one on this Earth can possibly know for certain. There are good reasons to believe there is such a thing, one of the many reasons being the fact that we need to somehow account for why there is something rather than nothing. Atheism to me seems rather arrogant, if only because it assumes that what we can possibly know (via our senses) is equivalent to what can possibly exist, which is absurd. If there is a God, then I would place bets on that God being of the Panentheist (not Pantheistic, which is something different) conception of it.
god is in every one of us. we are a part of it. God is the mind and holy spirit (we all share the same holy spirit). if we stop looking to the stars and stop having faith in god (humanity) we get lost and our spirit dies. this is where big brother comes in and plays god our master, a slave world. this is the point of the bible and religion. you are god you control your destiny not the government aka big brother. this is why religion is being attacked, they don't want you to believe in yourself (god) they want to be your god and control your destiny.

Yes atoms were not considered atomic but they were still considered as something which no one knows where it came from. If everything is scientific then the origin of the universe is something science can barely explain so just like god, it's unexplainable
