Religions were created by men who couldn’t get jobs…Prove me wrong?

Islam was created by Muhammad who was a politician, a merchant, a teacher, and a Warlord lol.
Jesus was a Carpenter by trade, he's believed to have been 30 when he began the path of the religion he created.
Judaism was created by Abraham. Upon research its hard to find what he did but he had a whole family he cared for somehow as the head of house until 79 when he left home.
The Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama) was a Prince and later became a philosopher. Point +1 to you on that one, tho that depends on the role or Prince in that Era but nonetheless granted. I'd research more, but the statement was overall so off base that it was easy to refute off the top of my head. Abraham was the only one I looked up
It´s not really a question. Religions are nearly as old as humanity is. The modern day definition of a job isn´t very old. Not until 200 years ago there was no such thing as a private life therefore people had to have some kind of job unless they couldn´t survive because there wasn´t a walfare system either.
The definition that this person could get a job isn´t accurate therefore because other wise they wouldn´t have lived long.
If you don´t have any influence you can´t create a religion because you need to have proofs that other people can determine if what you say is accurate because then and now nobody trusts a claim that can´t be proved by anything.
So either you can perform actions no one can or you need to have other ways to make people you´re special.
It ´s simply not true in the Antique everybody was naive and believed anything they heard someone saying.
If their records are accurate, then the big 3 religions root with Abraham, who had work, and owned his own business. All of his sons were the same as him. The same is true for Muhammed and Islam, and they say that Jesus was a carpenter.
I don't know about Siddhartha, I would have to read more about him, and I don't feel like doing that right now.
That would be a very strange thing to lie about, like, "Hey, this guy had a common job that most societies in those eras found disgraceful." But I agree, religion is not the best form of record keeping. I'm just giving you the evidence as it is.
Since these historical records are the only evidence for your question, I would say that you, perhaps intentionally, asked a question that only has proof that you cannot prove or disprove, kind of putting yourself into an argumentative limbo.
Other than that, you can easily look into modern/newer religions/cults, and find that many, if not all of the people who started them held jobs before they led their movement. Go to wikipedia and look up cults, it's really interesting to me.
I know a lot of pastors who have other full time jobs, one as a manager and another as a consultant and yet another as medical professional. My old pastor worked full time as a bank teller and preached evenings and Sundays. He had kids too and his wife also had a busy job.
I could work as a pastor but I refuse to charge money for ministry
I never researched the topic so I’m not sure but as far as I know, you need some form of license to lead or receive financial compensation for ministry in a religious setting, the license is for taxation purposes and not ideological control
It’s because every legitimately paid worker has to pay taxes, some do it for money, but many do it because they believe it. I know guys who could make over 80,000 doing the STEM jobs they studied in school, but make near minimum wage as pastors. One girl almost got into Harvard and another guy had a 4.0 GPA, both abandoned their careers to work as pastors. I know a computer programmer who quit his job to become a pastor, as well as an aerospace engineer and an architect, the architect designed the hospital near my house.

Jesus was a carpenter.
Carpenters need wood.
Jesus lived a desert.
Deserts don't have trees.
Jesus needed a side line.
Yeah I mean.. if I were an ancient human I would probably try to be the village shaman or something because you just spout gibberish at people and dance around a fire all day.
Not true religion was created at a time where everyone worked together in a tribe. Religion was created to have power over others, to make them obey, so you can control more people easier. Preferably make it less work to keep the power they got for the family.
From a business perspective, you’re mistaken. Religion grows due to the marketing and sales of a concept. Once that concept takes hold, the industry is developed from its infrastructure and consumers.
It’s a better argument to say that religion is an industry. Prove me wrong.
Now I’m interested in you proving your premise.
Cheers
If you go back far enough. God's and religious beliefs started by workers and soilders who needed faith , guidance and belief to get through wars and grow food for survival. The Mayans had sun Gods and Rain Gods they prayed to for good crop seasons and water.
Easy to prove wrong. As you're confusing "cults" with "religions"
You've never heard of civilisations and laws, have you?
Every single was was founded on a religion. Even the laws today are mostly secular interpretations of religious laws.
But all that is probably above your level.
I'll just burn you with "priest/rabbi/mullah/chaplaincy etc is a salaried job"
Wrong. Religions were created by men who don't like to work.
You and your "Prove me wrong" questions. It's clear to me that your statements aren't actually questions whenever you say that, so instead of trying to disguise your claims as questions, why don't you write 'MyTake's instead?
Are you familiar with the concept of the burden of evidence and with whom it lies? The one making the claim. No one here is under any obligation to "prove" you wrong; it's up to you to show that you're right, and you can never do that.
It's a good question, but I want to give a different answer. Religions are empty. Religions are a shelter that protects men. Why are all the prophets and clergies man, why isn't there a single woman prophet and clergy why? Also I am afraid of fanatical religious people. These people will do anything for their religion. God protect us. Thanks.
It was created way before jobs were even a thing. And all evidence points to the first priestly class being female.
The goddamn first idols were dildos, lol!
Religion is what happens when monkeys start making sense of the world and attempt to standardize parenting, education, natural philosophy and morality. The first sense-making tool, crude, but highly effective.
I reckon pretty much every religion and denomination will have been started by someone who had a job.
carpenters, fishermen, soldiers etc are all common themes.
you rarely hear about some dude on the dole.
I follow religion but I still believe somewhat you are right
L. Ron Hubbard had a job of writing science fiction stories before he started Scientology. There is direct evidence against your theory.
Still had a job.
Well actually the church always offered several services to individuals and society. So while you may rightfully disagree with the indoctrination, you can't really denied that they do things that people want and pay money for.
I don’t know about that but while it should be intended to give peace to those believing often times it’s used as a form of control.
Partially. They were mostly created to explain things that couldn't be explained, but then people got smart and realized that they could use it as a means of controlling people and extorting free money from them.
Well, we have to ask them but since they are already dead.. I don't want to be pessimistic but...
Apostle Paul was one of the most prestigious and status driven men with a ton of wealth for the time, and wrote almost all of the New Testament.
Ok. Religion predates jobs, as religious carvings and paintings have been found that predate civilization. Religion even predates modern humans. We're not the first religious species.
Ermm.. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was a businessman long before his prophethood.
