Talking about the 1260 day prophecy, which was in fact 1260 years, that ended in 1798. As for not ending soon, it says in the book of Revelation that Jesus will come like a theif in the night. As in he will come unexpectedly, when you have in your mind that it won't end soon. Revelation talks about the 7 seals and when the 7th seal opens, Jesus comes, we are at the end of the 6th seal.

Life as we know it has a maximum of about 1 billion years left. By at least (and maybe at most i. e it could happen sooner) 1 billion years from now, solar luminosity will be around 10-12% higher. This will basically evaporate the oceans (the opposite of a flood). The earth will be a steamy greenhouse for a while, much too hot for human life. There will still be some sort of microbial life which survives during this phase of the death of the planet. there's a small chance that some invertebrates may evolve to survive these conditions but we're talking about insects at best.

By about 2 - 3 billion years from now, the earth will be entirely uninhabitable. Even extremophiles would struggle to live. By 4 billion years from now, the earth will be so hot that conditions will be even more volatile than those on venus. The actual surface will literally melt. By this point, it is impossible for any form of life to survive on Earth. However, even in this condition, one could say that planet earth still exists. So the world hasn't officially ended yet. It will actually end and cease to be a planet by about 7-8 billion years from now when the sun has phased into a red giant and entirely engulfed and destroyed the earth.

Nations have always risen against one another, and there have always been earthquakes. Considering humanity grows beyond control, food shortages are a logic result. All that is easy to predict. Also, no phenomenon lasts forever, and everything changes continually: being born, living, dying. When we die, it's the end of the world for us ! That's one way to understand the notion of end of the world.

Now, considering a literal meaning: the sun of our solar system will die out in a very large number of billions of years, but before dying, the sun will have reached an enormous diameter englobing our planet, which seems to be the end of our world, and still the milky way will not even have changed...
